You don't.

You can only get one from another xbox.

Not without a hardware eeprom reader. You can't follow the tutorial without a mod (check the requirements of the tutorial).

how do you go about getting the EEPROM image?  I have a friend that is never going to use live, so i was going to just get his.  Can i just use EEPROMMAGIC and get his backup one and then rename it?

you use evoX's backup function. in the folder c:/backup you will see eeprom.bin

Any chance on this getting added to the "tutorials" section opjose, written by anonymous?

That way this thread doesn't need to exist.

Thanks,

This didn't work for me......BECAUSE I had two Xboxes using Live beta and I stopped using one before the "Tuesday Crash" and I did the EEPROM method, everything worked fine, but Xbox Live not found. MS basically used us Xbox modded Live beta testers are guinea pigs to stop modded Xboxes...

(Long story so don't ask why I didn't just use the other one to see if Live worked)

Oh well, that is why I have a second virgin Xbox.

Zander,

An important sidenote is to also put

HDDisabl.exe

on the disk. If someone screws up (points finger at me), the HD will unlock but will relock after a reboot. HDDisabl disables the security on it thus allowing all the relocking and unlocking you want.

Zander,

I'm all set now I'm going to do this in the morning when I get off work.  But just out of curiousity.  Wouldn't the lock be the same as the lock on the xbox that your taking the eeprom from?  Just wondering if it generates a totally unique lock or if you could cut down the steps by using the lock from the good eeprom.
