Its a 1MB tsop so also any bios will work. You can also split it up and have 4 different bioses on it.

But I have always preferred the Ind-Bios for 1.0-1.5 xboxs and if not that I would use a Evox  bios.

man... I cant get xbins to work right now. I have been trying for hours.
Which Ind-Bios would you recommend and do you know of a place where I can download it other than xbins?

as usual, I'm having trouble...

Thanks in advance,

Try searching for Hexen in Google. It is the latest and greatest "installer" disc. It will have the bioses you need on it, and will even install them for you. I believe you can find it via torrent site, so no need for the xbins hassle.

I have the HeXeN disk.... It's done wonders for me in the past. I should have checked there first. Will it place the bios ini file where its needed? That's what I'm most worried about right now.

Thanks in advance,

I flashed the bios using the HeXen disk.. I first flashed it with X2.4981 (F only) bios and there was no sound. I went back and flashed it with the iND.BIOS.5003 (F only) and again there is no sound. Then I flashed it with a 512k X2.5035 (F only) and yet again, there is no sound.

I'm going to re-flash it with a 256k iND.BIOS.5003 because I like iND better.

Any help?
Thanks in advance,

ok.. I flashed the TSOP with the iND.BIOS.5003, still no sound.

I replaced the hard drive successfully... I changed the dashboard to XBMC and pointed the ini file in the correct location and it booted to MS dash... I noticed that the ini file was for X2, not iND.... What gives?

now when I try to FTP into my xbox I type in the correct IP, user, pass and port.... I can get in but now there are dates in front of the drive letters. when I click on them its telling me "failed to retrieve driectory".

I dont think that any of the bios' on that disk are correct for my xbox.

Where the fuck is the bios config file? why was it installing an X2 config file when I was flashing an IND bios?

This shit fucking sucks.

HeXEn installs both config files, because at the point it sets up the files it doesn't know which BIOS you are going to choose. One is on C:\, the other on E:\, because that's how the two BIOS writers decided to set up their BIOSes. If you'd spent the time looking instead of ranting you'd have found them both in under ten seconds. You might also have worked out that editing an X2 config file would have no impact on an iND BIOS.........

The sound issue has nothing to do with your BIOS. It's your Xbox hardware, or your cable, or your TV.

There are BIOSes on HeXEn for all versions of Xbox. If your Xbox boots then you have picked the correct BIOS.

The FTP directory issue happens occasionally. I have no idea what causes it (and before you start ranting again it isn't a HeXEn issue, it can happen at any time). My recollection is that rebuilding the disk usually sorts it out.
