Tsop Flash A 1.1 With Mechassault
« Reply #15 on: April 07, 2011, 05:36:00 PM »

Has to be DVD-R, not DVD+R.

Mechinstaller is a game, not a softmod. It's the precise softmod installer name and version that tells you where the dash is installed.

The correct path to the dash is the path to wherever you installed your preferred dash. Use FTP to put your dash where you want it, then make sure x2config.ini points to that location. E:\Dashboard\default.xbe is probably a good place, or E:\Dash\default.xbe.

Edit: Actually, E:\evoxdash.xbe would be a better choice, because it is where most boot discs assume the dash will be.

I meant that mechinstaller is different as it it puts it in a different place than the hotswap does... and it did.

When I ftp into the xbox I see that the unleashx dash is E:/Dashboard/defautlt.xbe
I pointed the x2config.ini file to that and it still boots to a black screen.
I never installed evox as a dash, only an application. That would be in E:/Apps/EvolutionX/default.xbe

I'll try everything I can...

Slayers disk is still downloading.
I'll let you know what happens.

Just to clarify, the x2config.ini goes in the evox bios folder right? I wasn't told otherwise... I just assumed that it went in there with the bios.

Thanks.

Sleep deprivation, lack of food and too much Mountain Dew will do this to you kiddo's!
Eat your Wheaties before you go modding!

Not stupid at all - there's a lot to take in, and it's the little details that will catch you out every time. smile.gif

I think I got... well, something...

I pointed the ini file to apps\evox\default... i deleted everything from the bios folder except for the bios I used and there was a jumbled mess on the screen that said something about oops, something went wron and I saw a number 13 in the top right corner of the screen with an arrow pointing to it. I could make out that the jumble was the evox logo

I'll keep working on it.

Stop making things up. I told you what to do in my previous post......

And FYI your Xbox isn't using the BIOS on the disk, it's using the copy you flashed onto the chip.

You don't need a tutorial. Grab HeXEn 0.99B11-22. Burn it to DVD-R. Put the new hard drive in your Xbox, then cold boot with HeXEn. The LED will turn red, then 40 seconds later the menu will appear. Select option 3.5.3. New Disk, NTSC Xbox or option 3.5.4. New Disk, PAL Xbox, then follow the instructions. You might want to read 3.5.1 Instructions first. smile.gif

If the hard disk is new then you might be prompted to format it when HeXen boots. That's not a problem - just format it following the instructions (from memory you press both triggers, but you get instructions on-screen that walk you through the process), then reboot with HeXEn again and select one of the new disk options.

like Heindall said, use HeXEn to upgrade your HDD. basicaly you put the HeXEn in the drive, power off, attach the new HDD and boot up. it will take a min for HeXEn to boot. then just find the TSOP options and upgrade your HDD.

make sure you burn HeXEn to  a DVD-R. you can find it by googleing "Heimdall's xbox engineering disc". the demonoid torrent is the most reliable.

thanks guys!
I'm going to pick up a few DVD-R's after work today and give it a go when I get home. hopefully my mind will be clear tonight and I don't make any stooooopid mistakes like I did yesterday.

I still can't believe I didn't see the extra "t" for that long. When my girlfriend got home from work I told her what I had done and she immediately saw my mistake. Maybe I'll have her do all of the flashing of TSOP's from here on out  tongue.gif

Thanks again for all of your help yesterday.
I really owe you one.

I keep getting this:
The passcode you entered is incorrect!

from what I can see its..
A, B, X, Y, white, left, down, right, up

what am I doing wrong?

I know this probably doesn't matter but I tried in on 2 different controllers. (one official M$ and one 3rd party Both s-types)
