1.4 Tsop Flash
« on: March 10, 2011, 05:18:00 PM »

a v1.4 xbox has come into my possesion. i am thinking of doing my first TSOP flash. i have already softmoded it with Krayzies 1.1.1. i have been reading, and some of the tutorials show two points on the top of the MOBO and some say there is a 3rd on the bottom.

also, what bios do i need?

For 1.2-1.5 Xboxes both solder bridges are on top of the motherboard. The point on the bottom is an alternative point.

In terms of BIOS, you need a 256kB BIOS i.e. iND-BIOS.5003, Evox M8+ or X2.4981.

my brother did the soldering to my 1.4 and it work out fine all you have to do is just solder two points
(IMG:http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac318/ITSGDYALL/TSOP2.jpg)
you just have to put just a little bit of solder to those two points there then use HexEn to flash the bios i used Xecuter2 4981.06 and it worked out fine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)
ps on the image it says 1.2 but its the same to 1.2 to 1.5 also if its winbond you have to choose winbond flash normally 1.4 and 1.5 are winbond

Edit C:\ind-bios.cfg to get rid of the options you don't want. The line you should start with is:

INTRO=1

but you should experiment with others as well.

Just make sure you don't change the lines:

DEFAULTXBE=\Device\CdRom0\default.xbe
AUTOLOADDVD=1

because they're the lines that allow you to boot from DVD if anything goes wrong.

yes, with some bios, you can edit, change, and or remove the flubber screen and sound when the xbox starts up.
i imagine that it would greatly depend on what bios you use. but if your using IND-BIOS.5003, you can follow heimdalls post above to edit stuff.
