Hello people,

I just get a new xbox and use hot swap to install a dashboard. Then i buy a new hardrive and try to lock it but ... the harddrive is not able to be locked, and that sux. So i take a look about removing the lock protection and get some doc about TSOP flashing.
Now i have the wire connected, the harddrive with dashboard, but im not able to find any documentation about flashing my bios without a mod chip.

Is there any solution ? (without buying a new HDD)

read through those links and if you get confused just ask

you do not need a chip to flash the tsop at all in fact its almost impossible to flash a tsop with a modchip installed

In fact, i thought there is some software to launch with my dashboard, so i will be able to flash the bios "like" on a computer.
Actually, i understand that there is two way :
- with evox which have a software to change the bios, but need to boot on the evox CD (and it seems its difficult to find it, all link i find are broken).
- with 007 and other. But the tut dont say if its possible to copy the 007 on my HDD, then launch it.

the evox dash will flash some of the tsops and then there's a Eurasia disk that will flash the tsops to. Find out what tsop you have and what version motherboard you have and I will let you know what you will need

i have a 1.2 (bios 5101) (with bios checker)
But evox (which i finally find) find me a bios version as unknown and a kernel version 1.00.5838.01.

BTW, the wire correspond to a 1.2>1.5 xbox

chances are you have a winbond TSOP so youll want to go with eurasia

So i took the "eurasia pro generic flash disk". Now need to find a good bios, if you have one. I only need to remove the lock check.

I think you will need the original soft modded HD in the Xbox to TSOP flash. Then you can use Slayer's to prep the new drive you have.

i try eurasia & evox bios flah and each say that the bios is locked.
I verify one point, but the second i dont have real point to test it.

So, is there another soft to try to flash it ? Or its my TSOP point which are bad ?

did you solder both the points for your version motherboard? If you need to check and see if your points are soldered good enough you can look in Lordvaders signature and click on the one that says alternate points and use them to check and see if it is soldered correct

lordvarders have better checkpoint, so its ok now.
Only the bad stuff, i took the Evox M8+ bios and fan speed is set to 100%, thats not fun, if someone have a trick to change it, or to have automatic fan speed depending on heat.

XBMC can auto adjust fan speed for temperature, but only in XBMC (IE if you run a game or launch another other app the fan goes back to 100)

on my last xbox, i didnt get that problem, but i dont remember which bios it was.

you can use evtool to adjust the fan speed and reflash
