Make sure you clean and very gently scrape the points before you solder, to make sure you get rid of any dirt and surface oxidisation and get a good contact. Also, use lots of flux.

ah i c so im guessing i put this flux right on the points i want to solder? does this help spread i guess i would say the solder? cause to me it just likes to ball up and thats pretty much it

ya i figured it out i ripped apart a router to mess around with, as for the box, i must be hitting the wrong points or some crap or its just not bridging them
