I'd leave it on there, at least until you're happy with the BIOS. I leave my soldered ones in place, and then make sure that I remove or hide Evox so that other people can't "accidentally" reflash!  smile.gif

If you do decide to remove it I'd guess that it will come off with acetone (nail varnish remover) and cotton buds - the packaging should give you some clean-up instructions.

Two votes for iND-BIOS.5003 - I use it on all my 256k TSOP Xboxes for exactly the reason steveo1978 gave - you can reconfigure everything apart from 06 / 67 from a text file. Also, the release notes reckon it will boot with a corrupted eeprom, which might come in handy if your eeprom ever gets messed up! smile.gif

Is there any way to disable the "Loading Ind-Bios" splash screen on the ind-bios?

No - it puts that up while it's loading the config file from the disk, so there's no way of removing it.

What does the AV Pack Check do in the ind-bios?

If its disabled does it mean the Xbox will boot without a AV cable connected and if enabled the Xbox will frag without a AV cable?

Also, if I enable 480p for the flubber animation, will it still display in 480i with composite cables or will I get a black screen?

Thanks.

AVcheck = 0 allows the Xbox to boot with the AV cable disconnected.

With AVcheck = 1 it still boots and doesn't seem to error, but you can't ftp to it.

Not sure what the 480p setting does, and there's no point me trying it because my old CRTV only supports 480i! Try it and see - the worst that can happen is that you'll get a blank screen, but you'll still be able to ftp to the Xbox to restore your original config.

Got rid of the ind-bios loading screen by injecting the cfg file into the bios and deleting the cfg file from the C drive  biggrin.gif

I have a problem with ind-bios.

Even with the "Load Dashboard on IGR" option enabled or disabled, when I press LT+RT+Back+Black for IGR, no matter what program I am in, it always loads the MS Dashboard instead of my custom dashboard, UnleashX.

I don't have this problem with the X2.5035 bios but would prefer to use ind-bios.

I also have IGR set to compatible instead of quick. Could this be the cause?

Also, am I right in assuming the "Load Dashboard on IGR" option means the MS Dashboard and not your custom installed dashboard?

Thanks.

It's a known bug with injected configs in iND-BIOS.5003 - see here.

Ah, I see, atleast there is a workaround.

Thanks  pop.gif

Note that an injected config does have its disadvantages. Please see the ConfigInjector readme.txt for more info.

Is it known what those disadvantages are apart from the IGR bug?

Thanks.
