Help How To Update Tsop Bios
« on: August 22, 2008, 05:54:00 PM »

install evox as an app so you can run it from xbmc, then just make a folder called "bios" in that directory and put the bios you want to use there, make sure evox.ini has

Item "Flash BIOS",ID_Flash_Bios

in it, so you have the option to flash

Help How To Update Tsop Bios
« Reply #2 on: August 23, 2008, 08:29:00 AM »

Hi

I have extracted the Slayers disk using Xiso to my desktop destination, it had the following files, slayers\SYSTEM\ALL\Dashes\Evo3935, and inside the Evo3935 folder it has the following files, do let me know if this Evo3935 Dashe folder is missing any files.

Skin (folder)

Evox.ini

evoxdash.xbe (so I just rename this file to default.xbe)

Where do I put the bios should I create a folder inside Evo3935 called Bios or should I put it in the root of the Evo3935 folder?

thanks

Boot into XBMC, FTP and find the folder f:\apps, make a new folder called evox in that and copy over the skin folder evoxdash.xbe renamed to default.xbe and evox.ini, the create a folder called bios in the evox and put the bios.bin file you want to use in the folder you should have this when done:

F:\Apps\Evox\default.xbe
F:\Apps\Evox\evox.ini
F:\Apps\Evox\Skins\maybe some files in here, doesnt matter if there isnt
F:\Apps\Evox\Bios\bios.bin

Reboot your xbox, then choose programs>apps from in XBMC then load Evox
The evox dash will load and choose flash bios, and select the bios.bin file.

Hi, I need some help again.

I followed the steps above however when I boot to EvolutionX Dash, it does not have the Flash Bios option??

The version of Evox I am using is: Evo3935, any idea as to what’s wrong?

Maybe this version does not support the Flash Bios option, or maybe I need to enable it in the Evox.ini file or something.

Please do let me know

Thank you

Hi I need to know one more thing thanks for all the help.

I flashed a X2 5032 bios to the Tsop and I have used x2 Config Maker v2.7.1.a to edit the ini file to my liking however I believe in the info file of x2 Config Maker it states (in the known bugs) “Does not set Colour Preset or x2logo” I have made my own logo and I can preview it in x2 Config Maker however on the xbox it does not change it still shows the logo “xecuter Rox my box” any idea what I need to change the logo.

Thank you

try using this version of the config maker:
http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=655590

it has a built-in ftp that should send the custom logo along with the ini file

I thought that X2.4983 had LBA48 support......... obviously not!

As your Xbox is 1.2-1.5 then you need a 256k BIOS - have a look at iND-BIOS.5003, X2.4981, and Evox M8+. iND-BIOS has the huge advantage that it allows you to configure its default behaviour (e.g. boot dashboard location, DVD check, etc.) from a text file on your HD without the need for reflashing.

Flash from the Evox dashboard as described above, or if your Xbox has a Winbond chip use Raincoat.

If you want to use a boot disc instead, Slayers and AID both have X2.4981 and Evox M8+.

The X2 bioses don't usually have LBA48 enabled by default and you need to manually patch them.  It would make more sense to me if they came with "F gets all" by default since an LBA48 bios works just fine even if there aren't F/G partitions.

flashing with eurasia is what you want to do, and when select the option it will eject the DVD tray and you put in a disc with the bios you want to flash named bios.bin (same as flashing a modchip with cromwell)

it does have it enabled, and it is enabled by default (the bios 4983.06 the .06 means LBA48-Large F drive)

however it is not enabled in a manner which is compatible with xbpartitioner (it wont read a custom partition table)

I don't want to patch or edit any bios if i don't have 2
I just want to be able 2 use xbpartitioner to format F:partition with 32b clusters
Because in the past i had corruption on my other boxes with large drives
Can i use any of these???
256k.evox.m8plus.fc.137
256k.evox.m8plus.v16.fc.137
256k.x2.4981.06.fc.ef
256k.x2.4981.67.fc.ef

Find ind bios it allows for custom partitioning and is available in the 256 size you need.It also has all the goodies built in and configurable by the config file you must place in the root of c.All other bios minus 5035 which is only available in a 512 size which can not be split will need to be edited to have all the abilities 5035 and ind have. You will find no comparable bios to these bios. There is no substitute. They will do anything you need them to do.The others as I said have to be edited to have the abilities. Some of the advantages include

custom partitioning
runs in debug mode
full control over the startup screen flubber and all
It uses 128 mg of ram if available
Some versions of these bios can be used vga
custom launch ability set up your dashboard anywhere and have the ability to launch to 4 different dashes on startup by the push of a button
Control over the fans and leds.

The list could go on and on.
As I said most bios can be edited to have these abilities and more but the only ones produced I know about that have all the abilities built in are the 5035 and ind bios.

Hope this helps
