I have either a v1.2 or v.1.3 xbox that I would like to TSOP flash the problem is the original HDD is dead and I usually use splintercell exploit to flash TSOP's. I have in the past used my Matrix mod chip to flash the TSOP but I think you can only do that on 1.0 and 1.1's?. I also have a X2 pro that I could use (if you can use X2 to flash tsop?) but I'd have to remove it from another xbox and don't really want to if it can be avoided?.

Do you ever remember getting the eeprom.bin from when you had the original hard drive and was able to use the xbox?

Now no matter what you will need a new hard drive that is lockable.

Yes, it is possible to flash, You can either (if you have eeprom.bin) 1) rebuild from xboxhdm, softmod and lock a hard drive with eeprom or 2) install modchip, install/rebuild hard drive, boot hard drive unlocked, install softmod and then remove modchip.

From there either way you can result in flashing the TSOP.

Thanks for your help wiitoddedkingdom, looks like I'll have to go with option 2.

Or you build a eeprom reader (like the one on llama.com) to read the mobo's eeprom, and use this to lock the new drive.
The cost of the eeprom reader will be 5-10 Euro, and it works like a charm (I have used it several times with full success).
