I has flashing a TSOP last night and had to look around my PC for a bios.
I pulled one out of Kazie Nuke softmod and now every disk says it can't recognize the disk in the MS dash. I get the Unknown message.

I tried many different brands of disks and 5 DVD drives. 1 Samsungs, 2 Thompson's and 2 Phillips.

Can it be the bios?

What if I load up a drive with another xbox (unlocked) and put it in with some software to reflash the TSOP? Think that will work?

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

I know the flash worked because it has the pink E in the top left corner of the loading.

Ok, you say it wont recognize the disk in the MS dash? Are these backups or originals? Have you tried another dashboard? Have you tried booting with a disc in teh drive?

I need it to recognize a burned disc to get ftp to work.
So I cant load a new dash.

It won't see and discs as xbox games original or not.
007 worked fine until I flashed it.

I understand that - it just sounded like you were putting your burned media in once the MS dash had booted. Do you know exactly what bios you flashed? Can you open the image in evtool and see what settings it had?

Update

Here is how I fixed it.

It seemed the only dash it would load was the MS dash and it didn't like any disc.

I installed the DuoX2 and setup the HDD with slayers. Then replaced the MS dash with UnleashX renamed to xboxdash.

This aloud me to boot into unleashx without the chip.
Then reflashed it using Slayers.
