What bios did you try to flash?

Caster.

I think that's my problem. I originally tried flashing with the one that was in the game save that I got from #xbins, but it gave me errors about being too large. I then realized that I needed to shrink it, so I used XBTool to shrink it, then put it up. It said everything was complete, but thinking back on it, I assume I should have downloaded a specific BIOS and put it into XBTool.

I was just following the basically same directions I found in a few places, and none of them said anything about getting a different BIOS than the file that came in the save. If this is the case, I can understand it, but I saw nothing to make me think that in the first place. sad.gif

Hrm, again, what bios did you try and flash?  Xecuter, evox, ind, etc...  What size was the bios when you got it?  Very few bios's are larger than 256k so i'm not sure why you had to resize it.

I tried flashing it using the bios.bin that came in 007savewithraincoat_0.5.zip. It gave me an error about being too large, so I looked and it was 1MB. I then took it into XBTool and told it to resize it to 256KB. When I tried flashing with that one, it seemed to work. I got a few little progress bars and it said it was complete.

When I just took the file from the zip into XBTool again, it shows that it's EvolutionX D6 (I didn't see this information before, I apologize).

I also moved raincoat 0.7 into the directory before flashing it, so I used it instead of .5 (which was what the bios was packed with originally).

Now that I'm looking at it, there's also a slight chance that I may have flashed it with X2 4981, but I don't think that was it.

If in fact you did flash d6 to the tsop...thats your problem.  That ancient bios doesnt support the focus video encoder on your 1.4, it was made for conexant encoder only.

You can get a 2 bank modchip and use one bank as retail (duox2 s are $10), but if you want to fix the tsop, you have to use a special evox bios and then hotswap. Or something. There's a tutorial on it in the pinned tuts, i belive.

If I don't have any interest in having a retail bios (only for Live play, right?), could I just throw in the duox2 and use it to boot like a normal bios?
