First Tsop Flash Working
« on: August 04, 2006, 11:44:00 AM »

I purchased a modchip (Xecuter 3 CE) awhile back and couldn't be happier.

a friend of a friend wanted me to fix his old xbox. A person modded his years back using a method I've never seen before. it was all done via ethernet cable and a laptop, he says. Yo use the xbox, he had to go into music and click on a sound track that loaded up phoenix or something. He was never able to play retail games on it, only backed up ones.

it hasn't worked for awhile and he just bought a new xbox. I told him I could TSOP flash his "broken" box and he could play the emu and ROMs he had on it as well as retail games as well. I successfuly TSOP flashed it and whatnot and everything worked as it should, minus the ability to play newer xbox games (The first Splintercell game works, but the third, chaos theory doesn't).

I thought it could be a problem with the dvd drive, since it is close to ancient (its an original 1.0, the ones you had to pre-order), but I put in mine and the same problems occur (I can play chaos theory on my box just fine).

Does this sould like a bios problem or an error in the flashing? I can dig up the bios and whatever information you think would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Fare

It just sounds like a problem with the original mod, or a problem beyong the TSOP flash.

i was thinking about that when i got to work today. tomorrow i will format the drive and reinstall the MS dash and another dash, see if that will over-ride the first mod.
