Even though we're half a world away, Im sure someone here is willing to pay you for the xbox, and even pay the shipping on it (which is customary anyways), or trade you a normal xbox for it. This is the kind of thing that even if you dont know what to do with, someone out there wants it, and you could probably make some money off it if you were that kind of person.

That's what I was thinking when you said you were going to throw it away.  I was like "Woah!, you just found a TSOP that 99% of XS has never seen before or even heard of!  ...and you would just throw it away.  Like insanity said, us people here would want it more just for the rarity of it and the researching experience - and then use it as an Xbox later.

Just a question that I don't think anybody asked or I might have missed...Why are you trying to flash the chip?

You said it has D6 on it already and it's loading up SlaYer's.  So why would you need to reflash it?  ...just wondering...

Just don't throw it away.  Take it back to that shop and ask them about it.  If that doesn't help you, post back in here that it's leaving your hands.  One of us will take it.  Throw away = Zero dollars.  Sell to somebody on XS = at least a little bit of profit, better than throwing it away.

Just out of curiosity, why would it be flashed with D6? Isnt that specifically a tsop-repair bios, that youd flash to a modchip? Unless of course Im mistaking it for another bios, but it doesnt make sense why that would be on the tsop.

True, I didn't think about that when I read it.  Hmmm....

Wow guys settle down.  He has taken 4 pictures and they all look the same.  Somebody already found a foreign board asking about this Intel TSOP as well.  Is it weird that he has this TSOP?  Yeah, sure.  But why would he fake it?  Honestly, he has nothing to gain from faking this Intel chip.  I don't think it's fake.

@Sukij, whatever you do, there will people who think it's fake.  I was skeptical at first, but after looking up the datasheets and after seeing three more pictures of the motherboard, I believe you.  It's just so rare that nobody has ever even heard of this.

2.2.1.4 Intelligent Identifier Operation
The intelligent identifier operation outputs the
manufacturer code (89H) and device code (B4H for
28F010, BDH for 28F020). Programming equipment
automatically matches the device with its proper
erase and programming algorithms.

hence get 89 & BD for the flash line - note should go in lower case for eurasia/raincoat/linux i think

so that is how I got to the 89bd bit & 40000 coz it's 256kb
(80000 is for 512kb and 100000 - it's in hex and equals to a decimal value of 160000 but you enter it in hex)

it would probably screw the whole thing up but that is what I'd try if it was mine but like I say I could throw a mod on there if it went tits up

btw it's a 1.2 or a 1.3 xbox due to the conexant video chip so you could use an older bios but the usual Evox M7 or x2 4981 would have been my choice - though the D6 bios should be compatible on pre 1.4/Focus chip mobo's - but is just easier to use M7 or 4981 for any mobo except 1.6's of course

FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY

I AM NOT SAYING THIS WILL WORK OR OFFER ANY GUARANTEE's AT ALL - I COULD/WOULD TAKE A CHANCE COZ I KNOW I HAVE A MOD TO HAND TO GET ME OUT OF CRAP

Most likely it won't work coz I got something wrong yet again but I'd like to have given it a go coz it is something different

I am sure it does exist - heck I've done a "few" tsop's but never seen a SHARP tsop for myself - seen and done a few very early 1.0 US xbox's that had 3944 bios on them instead of the usual 4034 kernal but still never seen a SHARP TSOP for myself - just usual ST, Hyundai/Hynix & Winbond's

Recovered a few with own 32 wire homebrew but still never seen a Sharp for myself - yet I know they exist and sure your Intel TSOP is for real - had a genuine Intel celeron mobo with the bios on same type of Intel TSOP chip

perhaps take it back to shop or fit a mod on there but I think you are telling the truth and wish you the best

Heck if you was in UK I'd say bring it round let me have a go and I'd modchip it for free if I fucked it up - alas postage n all that ain't worth it

Best of luck though

If you open the first image in wordpad, you will note that is does not contain the text "Adobe Photoshop" anywhere in it.  Any image spit out of Photoshop clearly states that that is what it was made with in the first few lines.

First of all, The white line around the tsop is normal, Secondly, You can count the legs on the TSOP to see how big the bios file is or has to be or you can use the backup command through evox to make a backup of the bios file and see that way. 40 legs = 1 meg, 32 legs = 256k  Thirdly, If the solder points in the traditional guides do not apply to your MoBo, I would be careful.

Also would like to add that a while back on the tsop section I saw a few experienced tsop-ers mention they came across an earlier 1.0 / 1.1 with a very rare 1mb WINBOND tsop - which a couple of other tsop-ers confirmed they have seen also

Now it is a shame that the search engine is nigh on useless but I wouldn't call them liar's or bullshitters just coz I have never seen one for myself

EvolutionX will always create a backup of 1MB.
