Xbox With Intel Tsop
« Reply #15 on: March 30, 2006, 09:03:00 PM »

Is it just me or does it look like there has been some soldering on the legs of that tsop. There is a possibility that this shop repaired it by replacing the tsop with this one.

Wup

P.S. Ive done over 100 tsop flashes never seen one of these intel's

omg this is amazing an intel tsop...
even though its too early to draw conclusions
this is amazing if this is a 2 mb tsop as from what i read earlier in one of the other members posts
and turns out to be true and if someone figures how to flash this we could be looking at an eight! way tsop split
if its doable this is scary....(sick and wrong)
of course probably im just doing wishful thinking
please if its doable the gentlemen who owns this xbox can you give us a bigger pic of the motherboard as a whole asap?
we might also find that this tsop may be a part of an unknown revision version just because it looks like a 1.2 there may be differences that can officially separate it from a 1.2 (1.2b mobo revision possibility anyone?)
please dont kill me as im speculating a lot
but i think it would be cool
thanks

As stated earlier, it is not 2mb, it is 256kb, because the size of it is in kilobits (1/8th of a kilobyte).

I have found a pinout and information on how to flash and what the chip needs to have to be able to write.  One of the pins must have greater than 6V to be able to write the chip.  Where to go from here, i am not sure but i'll change the sheet info from pdf to an image and post here in a bit.

If you look at pin vpp in the first image, this pin must have greater than 6.5V(error in post above) to enable writing.  Someone with more knowledge than me can surely flash it.

Enjoy.

What watt soldering iron are you using?  Looks like its a little high to be using on an xbox mobo, based on how badly you burnt it.

If you were to supply the 9th pin from the top left in the pic above with more that 6.5V and had the init strings for the chip, you should be able to flash it using raincoat or a similar application.

Id take it only for the challenge of making it work. If you could figure out the flash codes (maybe theyre in a datasheet somewhere) for the chip, then you would be able to flash it.

Even though we're half a world away, Im sure someone here is willing to pay you for the xbox, and even pay the shipping on it (which is customary anyways), or trade you a normal xbox for it. This is the kind of thing that even if you dont know what to do with, someone out there wants it, and you could probably make some money off it if you were that kind of person.
