In order to do a tsop flash I have to unlock the tsop by soldering some points together on the mobo. Is this correct?

ok so I would need to connect two points of the top of the mobo and two points on the bottom of the mobo for a 1.0 version xbox. Is this correct? Thanks

yes, look in my sig for pics of the write enable points

BTW, you dont techncially have to use solder, you can use a conductive pen or ive even heard people having success by taping down bits of wire (but i would not recommend this method) conductive pen is good though

Ok so is all i have to do is joint to points on the top then join the points on the bottom and I'm ready to flash?

I would also like to do a two way tsop split.  Is all I have to have is a switch and then which every way it is switched when i flash will be the bank that I flash the new bios to. Then if I want to run original bios i flip the switch while the xbox is off then boot it up with the original hdd and I can use xbox live.  Is this correct?

By the way i have a 1.0 xbox w/o sharp tsop.

ok so let's i have jumped the two points on the top of the mobo and the two points on the bottom of the mobo and I have installed a switch to split the bios 2 ways. I have a version 1.0 so if I were to split then I would have to banks of 512mb. I would have to make the X2 bios a 512mb file. Is this correct.  What is the name of the exploit i should use.  I have MA and SP and both of them are capable of loading the exploit.

What are the methods of getting the exploit onto the xbox hdd.  I do not have a memory card. Is there another method. I do have another modded xbox which can ftp. Can i put the exploit on the modded box and then connect the two and transfer the save that way. I can't really take my modded xbox apart due to the complexity of it.

you wont have to resize the bios, just use an evox exploit and it will resize for you

the only methods are memory card and hotswapping, i would recommend just going out an dbuying an MS or madcatz memory card rather attempt a hotswap, then FTP the exploit to your modded box and use the MS dash to copy it to the mem card

Once i get the exploit on my hdd and I run it and evox comes up can i flash the tsop from evox.  I'm using an exploit for MA with evox.

One more question I have a modded xbox and an unmodded one so can I just put the unmodded original hdd into the modded xbox and then put the file on it and then put the original hdd back into the unmodded xbox.  Just switch them straight up or do I have to lock or unlock them or anything else other than just plugging them in and unplugging.  Thanks for all the help

Ok I have one more question.  Once I get the exploit onto the hdd and i load it do I flash from evox if evox is included in the exploit or do I have to telnet. I have read something about that.  I don't have dos promp but command promt. I think it's the same thing.  Also in the readme with evox it says I have to load bert and ernie or something like that and choose a loader.  What does that mean... Thanks

Even if it says something about bert and ernie in the readme I don't need to do anything about it.  Here is what the readme says. Is this what i'm looking for. I have never been on live so do I have to worry about the update thing

Quick how to:

If you have any XBOX LIVE Mechassault updates on your system you must delete them or this WILL NOT work!

1. Extract 4d530017 to a temp directory.

2. Load it onto your memory card or preferred storage device.

3. Copy the savegame file from memory device to the xbox hard-drive in MS Dashboard.

4. Put RETAIL Mechassault game in xbox. At main menu go to "Campaign" click on "Load Linux", your screen will flash and Evox will load.

5. FTP the Free-x Bert and Ernie to /FONTS folder and install loader of your choice!

It says MA with evox so I would assume that this is what I need but who knows. I want to double check so I don't ruin my xbox and have to buy a chip or 3 wire to fix it.  Thanks again for all the help

forget step 5

you might have to put a bios in the bios folder (in 4d530017) and add the flash line to evox.ini, all depends on whats in the evox menu when you load it up

and dont worry about Live updates either, those are also just for the fonts you arent using

Here is what the evox menu looks like:

[Menu]

Section "Root"
{
#   Item "MS Dashboard",ID_MS_Dash
   Item "Reboot",ID_Quick_Reboot
   Item "Power Off",ID_Power_Off
#   Item "Flash Evox BIOS","c:\bios\d6.bin",ID_Flash_Bios_File
   Section "System Utils"
   {
      Item "Settings",ID_Settings
      Item "Flash BIOS",ID_Flash_Bios
      Item "Backup",ID_Backup
   }
}

I think this is correct.  Would I use "Item "Flash BIOS",ID_Flash_Bios" Since I don't want the evox bios.  If so then where would I place the bios in order for that option to work.  Thanks

Also I just found this which is in the same folder as the evox.ini.  Is's in a readme file

Item "BiosCheck","f:\apps\BiosCheck\default.xbe"
Item "boXplorer","f:\apps\boXplorer\default.xbe"
Item "DVD-X2 DongleFree DVD-Player","f:\apps\DVDX\default.xbe"
Item "Px HDD Loader","f:\apps\HDDLoader\default.xbe"
Item "Enigmah Videomode Switchdisc","f:\apps\NTSC-PAL\default.xbe"
Item "Xbox Media Player","f:\apps\XBMP\default.xbe"
Item "Xbox Watch","f:\apps\XBWatch\default.xbe"
Item "xToolBox","f:\apps\xToolBox\default.xbe"
