Thanks Lordvader for all the help.  I got my memory card in the mail today and I successfully did a 2 way tsop flash on my xbox.  I have a couple of questions though.  If I use my stock hdd and I flip the switch to original M$ bios am I safe to use live.  I have not done anything to my stock hdd except for add the MA game exploit to Udata.  Also I have another question which doesn't relate to this but do all live games come with a free 2 month xbox live trial.

you are safe to use Live with the switch on the MS bios (provided you booted with it that way, not flipped it over while playing a backup, lol)

if you have not been on Live before you can even upgrade your HD before signing up and still be fine

any files you keep on the HD are ok too, as long as they arent mods hacks or cheats for the game you are currently playing on Live

no, not all Live games come with a trial i dont think, they put them in new and popular ones

Ok well i bought this xbox from a friend that previously had xbox live and used this xbox with it.  I would create my own account.  So before I sign up for my xbox live I can upgrade the hdd.  Should I copy the files from the original hdd in c:/ and e:/ and put them in the respective spots of the upgraded hdd.  I have the hdd up and running but it is using different files from another xbox. Don't know which one cause I bought it off of ebay and I have to reformat it because someone did it wrong.  I didn't know I could boot up an upgraded hdd from original M$ bios.  Does it have to be locked?

I don't know too much about this but I'll give some more info.  The hd he used was the original seagate that came with the xbox and it was unmodded. The xbox was normal at the time he used it.  Can I just copy the contents of the original seagate to my new hdd and then make my new account that I have never used or signed up for.

If I cannot do this I have another idea.  I have an xbox that will most likely never go on xbox live so can't I take the eeprom from there (has never been on live) and put it on my newly modded xbox.

If at all possible I would like to keep the eeprom in my other xbox but if there is absolutely no way around it then I will take the eeprom.  Thanks again for all the help.

Also where can I purchase an eeprom and how much would it cost?  Is installing the new eeprom easy? What does it involve?  Thanks again

youll have to take the eeprom from the other box, theres no way to change HDs on the other xbox without getting banned

if the xboxes are different versions make sure you convert the eeprom to match the version

you can get another eeprom from a guy named zodiak in b/s/t, i think he asks 10 dollars for them

installing is easy, just use config magic to flash it

Ok so I think I will just purchase one.  Does he sell them for different versions or do I have to change them? Also how does he get all of these eeproms? The only reason I don't want to take the one out of the xbox I have now is because there is a slight chance I may flash the tsop in it and take out the chip.  I like the tsop flash.  You have converted me from the chips.

Ok so I'm going to purchase an eeprom from zodiiak.  I already emailed him for in invoice for it.  Anyways I can do some stuff to my existing hdd in the mean time.  I need to reformat the whole hdd and get it setup and ready but I have a couple of questions.  I have setup an hdd of my own before.  I have an evox boot cd with a format option that I want on it and then I can ftp into the xbox and put the files I would like onto the hdd.  Does it matter if I format the hdd in a different xbox than the one that I want to play live in.  Also should I copy all the files from c:/ and e:/ from the original hdd that was in the xbox that I want to play live on and put those files on c:/ and e:/.  After I do this does it matter where I put other files on the hdd.  Can I get banned for having files on my hdd where they shouldn't be?

the only files you need off the old HD are from E: and thats only if you want to keep the gamesaves and soundtracks, if you do not care about those you dont need any files

Live does not scan for any misplaced files, they only check for hacked saves profiles and content for a game you are currently playing on Live (IE if you have hacked halo2 profiles you will get banned for playing halo2 with them, but if you only play forza you cna have whatever halo2 junk you want)

ok well i took a part my modded xbox to get the sammy i needed to read my evox boot disc on my other xbox.  I then backed up c:/ and e:/ from the original hdd of my tsop xbox that I just did.  I then put my 200 gig hdd into that box and put in my evox format cd and formatted the hdd.  I took the files from c:/ and e:/ that I copied to my pc and I put them on my new 200 gig hdd.  I would like to boot up with original bios.  Do I have to lock my hdd in order to do this.  Also what is the best method to do this?  I have heard of people not being able to unlock them because of a password or something and it causes trouble and frustration so is there something I should backup or write down before i attempt to lock it.  Also the only files that I have added to my xbox are evoxdash.xbe and evox.ini and those were to c:/ so that I could boot up evox and ftp, I also added some folders in F:/ for games apps music etc...  Will this affect when I boot up original bios or does it matter if I were to have them on then when I attempt to get on xbl. Also when my hdd is locked can I boot up my x2 bios off my tsop.

you just need t lock your HD and flip your switch to retail

the locked/unlocked HD woes are generally only for softmodders becuase they have to lock the HD manually with a PC, for someone with  TSOP flash you just boot with th eunlocked HD and then lock it with config magic

ok so i have my hdd unlocked and I boot it up with my x2 bios and then I go into config magic and lock it.  Then I turn the xbox off and flip the retail bios and boot up the locked hdd.  Then when I want to unlock it I boot the locked hdd with the x2 bios and then unlock the hdd with config magic.
