Ok, so any Splinter Cell will work? Because at one point I was going to softmod my 1.0 with it, and when I loaded the save, it froze. I don't have Platinum Hits version, and i bought the game about three months after it was released.

(i dont have the number on disc at the moment, I'll look for the disc quick)

Yes, it will work. The reason why the save froze is probably because you were using a corrupted save. If you find the save freezing, check these things for the best compatiblity.

1. Download your gamesave from xbins. These are official saves and will never be corrupted.
2. Use an official MS memory unit if you can. An Action Replay and other third-party memory units are of a lesser quality and have been known to corrupt gamesaves - especialy with larger-sized saves.
3. Make sure there are no other Splinter Cell gamesaves on the xbox hard drive.
4. Make sure you have both Splinter Cell saves. I am not 100% sure, but I believe there is always 2 saves for Splinter Cell. In my experiences, one was always called LINUX_profile and the other is called INSTALL_linux.

It should work for you, I have used Splinter Cell many times and never run into problems.

I use a platinum hits edition splinter cell for my softmodding. So I can confirm that they do work.

I did the splinter cell one and followed everything perfectly but then it freezes when i start the linux profile.

I had this problem as well. I'm guessing you are using the component video cables, right? Go into the MS Dash and turn off support for 480p, 720p, and 1080i. Then it will work without freezing. Once you are completely done with your softmod you can go into the MS Dash and put things back the way they were.

I struggled with this for a while, and couldn't find that solution anywhere, so I hope this helps someone! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

With the SC exploit, I read that the Linux save needs to be the only save on the xbox, I have not tested this out.

Well, i just ordered a original (classic, as it says on the site

) Splinter Cell (Pal).

Is there any difference between PAL and NTSC Splinter Cell saves?
I once saw someone posting that his savehack for NTSC was completed, but that the PAL version still needed work, but i cant find anyone else mention any difference.

Yes they are different, Krayzie's for SC has 2 different installers, 1 for NTSC the other for PAL...

how do you turn of support for 480p 720p 1080i from the dashboard? i cant seem to work it out. cheers charlie.
