I happened upon an xbox with 8 games for $80, and upon opening it i found it was a 1.1 w/ sammy 605. hooray! I've only had 1.6 boxes to date, all of which i softmodded with 007AUF. Now im happy to do something new instead of the same old softmod, so i figure i'll flash the tsop.
Now here's the problem, upon doing research and reading tutorials and such, i seem to be coming across different methods all over the place. Some require a modchip temporarily to flash the tsop, though i think this is outdated, because i am seeing other tutorials that are more softmod-esque in their techniques. Linux distros, 007, etc etc.
Can someone please point me in the direction of the CURRENT way i would want to go about flashing a 1.1, when i have access to other boxes that are softmodded, the AUF disc i used to mod them, but no actual modchips? A current source of general information relative to my box and not the 1.2-1.5 boxes would also be VERY appreciated. Thanks for the clues, guys.

i should mention i wish to split the tsop to use multiple bioses (i understand this is possible with the 1.0-1.1s, but obviously have never done it. Im understanding what a split tsop means correctly, right?). The reason i need to split it is because i built a digital projector about a year ago (tom's hardware stylee), and am in the process of adding a vga port to my hidef a/v pack. I need to flash the hi-def vga bios and a standard ntsc bios to the tsop. Correct me if this cannot be done.
