hi,

i have my xbox here and i want to do a tsop flash due to there being less wires within the xbox and the multibios feature.

but i am confused.

i have soldered the write enable points together, the top and bottom ones, that was simple to understand.  

now here is what i have in my posession at the moment.
i have a xecuter 2.3b pro
a very old chip called an XRAY 2 (10 wire mod)
i have slayers evox 2.6
and i can get anything off xbins and ftp to me xbox. all the basic stuff at the moment.

but now i want to flash the tsop.
first of all i dont have any original games at all.

so i was thinking about following this tutorial

the thing is i have this XRAY chip which is an 11 wire mod i think, but i dont know how to disable it. would i just put a switch in between the chip and the d0 point?

and will it even work with my chip?

once i flash the TSOP i then will work on making a multibios setup.

ok one more thing im a bit weray on is my xbox version.
so i took this test. -->    http://xbox-scene.com/versions_1.php   <-- and it reveals my xbox is infavt a V1.1.  But when i have a look at these pictures in this thread  -->  http://forums.xbox-s...pic=338152&st=0  <-- my motherboard matches the V1.0 picture, and not the V1.1 - V1.5 picture   What to do???

There is a very simple way to tell a 1.0 from a 1.1. Look at where the controller ports plug into the motherboard. Do they plug straight into the mobo, or are they connected to a board that's connected to the mobo (USB daughterboard)?

If there is a USB daughterboard, it's a 1.0. If there isn't a USB daughterboard, it's a 1.1. In any case, as far as TSOP flashing goes, 1.0 and 1.1 are the same, so technically it shouldn't make a difference.

Now for actually flashing the Xbox.

You say you have some modchips at hand right? Then you don't need an original game or memory card.

Simply ftp an xbe exploit (I recommend UXE) with the chip on, then turn off the chip to make sure it works. Then solder the write enable points (there are two of them, one on the top of the mobo, and one on the bottom. Check lordvader129's sig for the write enable pic). Turn on your Xbox (with the chip off) and then use Evox to flash (or you may have to use raincoat depending on which TSOP chip you have).

if you want to do a multibios setup its easier to install the switch before your initial flash, look at the TSOP split pic in my sig for a diagram on how to install the switch, then just flash normally with a 512k bios

i have installed the swith as per your diagram in your sig lordvader129.
i have installed my modchip into the xbox so i can boot up backup'ed games etc.
i can easily ftp into the xbox.

what files do i put on the xbox though, UXE? whats that lol. i should know that.

by the way i forgot about the daughterboard thing, its a 1.1
i have already soldered the write enable points together.

so i can do all that, so my next stewp is to transfer an exploit to the xbox.  i will find that at the usual place, and whgere should i ftp it into the xbox?

and i will to the two flash flash straight away.

anyway, all that looks good (from your PM)

as for the exploit, ive never really dealt with dashbaord exploits, i use 007, what you shoudl do is look for krayzies UXE installer, its a gamesave exploit, but you should be able to run it as an app with the modchip enabled

ok, i have now installed the modchip (old crappy one) and have installed evolutionX on the hdd.

i have Krayzies exploit. is this a softmod, as i dont want a softmod.

but then how do i flash and plit the tsop.

PS: would it be possible to flash the tsop through evox by booting up with the chip on and then switching it off. and running a tsop flash?

EDIT:BTW i have a hynix TSOP

2ND EDIT : ok this is what im thinking of doing.

1.transferring krayzies exploit to the xbox
2. installing it etc
3. uninstalling the modchip
4. boot up with the exploit, then in slayers flash the TSOP and done.

BUT, how would i go about flashing the TSOP into 2 parts through evox, is it just as simple as you flick the switch, then flash then flick again and flash again?

3RD EDIT: with krayzies exploit it seems you have to have the actual games so you can load up the gamesave. or how else would i do this because it dosent say theres a specific game. i just dont know where to put the gamesaves of krayzies and how to load them lol.

now im going to install 2 switches and split the TSOP 4 ways :S or maybe just 2 ways. nope im going 4 ways

ok all done, i have installed one switch.

now what i want to know is this.
if i do a 2 way splitting of the tsop for now, will i be able to install another switch later on and flash into 4 ways? and if so how would this be done?

ok, now i have a problem

i installed a switch, had it set to one side. flashed it with the X2 49.83 bios
then i turned the xbox off, flicked switch to the other side so i could then flash that side, but my xbox boots up 3 times then frags .

this isnt part of the plan. lol. any help appreciated thanks

yes, the first side does still boot up fine with the xecuter bios. slayers and everything comes up . but when i flick to the other side the xbox boots up 3 times then frags. i will have a look at the wiring and get back to you.

had a look at wiring, it all looked good but i resoldered just in case.
in that process i nearly lifted the trace if A18, its still in the but not very stable. any way i should go about maybe glueing it back in as there is a large bit of solder which is risen i could solder to once i glue it in. i might try a little bit of superglue.

but once i resoldered all the joins. the first side which was working now plays up. it still boots up fine, but the p/e board plays up. when i press power it ejects, when it closes the tray i can then turn it off. but the eject button dont work as of yet.

i think i will take the switch out for now, and resolder it in later. can i boot up the xbox now, because i have already flashed one side?

thanks guys i better not need a new mobo. i shouldnt.
