wink.gif and now it's this long  tongue.gif

I used the same OLD outdated bios as fratslop did. Xecuter2_4976.02_MultiVer_256k. If you're wondering why i did this, it's because I couldn't find any earlier bios version I could open/edit with xbtool. I tried like 8 bios before this 1. Stupid me for using it, but hey I learned it now the hard way.

I'm now gonna install a preflashed alladin chip. This should solve all my problems right ?  ph34r.gif

Thx for all the posts it really helped me out reading them  beerchug.gif

why do you suggest hard-wiring d0 to ground ? Wouldn't the normal installation work fine ? d0 to chip ?!

Btw do i need to remove the two connections i made on the motherboard for flashing the tsop? Or can i leave them connected ?

i feel confident enough to solder everything correctly, however, after coming across Duck of Death's 29 wire thread im not sure ill have the patience to flip random switches on and off till it works.

in theory you can flip them off immediately after booting, however, sometiems it seems the xbox calls from the bios while xbes load, so its best to load raincoat then flip thr switches off right before you flash

as for tutorials, there are soooo many out there, and each one caters to a different audince (those with exploitable games, those with access to a modchip, those with nothing but a pc) so in a way they are all necessary, but things move so fast in the modding scene stuff is outdated in a matter of months, sometimes less

this is probably a stupid question but x2 4981 will work on all versions right?
the reason i ask is i tsop flashed a 1.3 (also winbond) with 4976 and it worked fine.
i would like to reflash with 4981 because i want to sell the box and minimize any problems 4976 may bring about!

If so, i would like to just use 4981 on all tsop flashes and be done with 4976.

well if your gonna do the switch thing just flip them all off, in theory there should be only 3 wires you have to cut, but it doesnt always work, lol

dry.gif
figured i might have skipped a wire or they were touching so i rechecked it all
everything checks out........except for my friggin xbox functionality!
im not sure what the problem is,  however, came up with an idea

is there bios on the xray3 or does it need to be flashed before use
i noticed that "you only need to use pad 31, 32 and 33 if you want to flash the Xray3..if you don’t then you must bridge Pad 30 to 31 and pad 32 to 33"

grrr

if anybody has any insight it would be much appreciated
thanks in advance biggrin.gif
