X2 5022 Bios

Or more likely the bios needs more than 256K to include the live features ....

but hey if you want to start a conspiracy theory ... I reckon the there were two IND bioses on the grassy knoll ... one of them definitely specified the bios at 512K and TeamExcecuter took the rap.

Why would there only be a 512kb option? All bios's todate except x3's are resizable am I not correct? Cant you just resize it with XBtool like we resize the Original Kernal? Or will that just corrupt the bios and make it FRag.

works very well on an xecuter 2.0 lite and xbox 1.1

What i am wondering about is: is there a tool to edit the x2 config live .ini ? cause its quite a pain setting the colors in the ini by hand.

someone might have already said this (didn't check page 2 yet) but all bioses are resizable going up, this is done by mirroring the bios to make it bigger. this bios contains more then 256kb worth of data, so it can't be shrunk down smaller then 512 (not the first bios like this either, do you recall xecuter 4978?)

It's no secret xecutor has wanted a propreitary bios that booted on their chip only like the x3 bios for a long time before X3. Now this bios leaves some chips out aswell. Evox was the team keep xecutor  honest in these regards and they're effectivly out of the picture at xbins and within a month the x2 bios is converted. Isn't it the evox team that told the executor team ' any feature you add to a proprietory bios we will add that feature to a public bios the next day'....

Anyway no whinning and crying the bios is 512k. It's beta now but if they add ftp to the bios making a boot disk ia thing of the past it'll be a job well done. It's not real impressive right now but shows alot of potential perhaps for down the road.

I wonder why X2 4978 was that way, after all the latest ones (4983) are 256k.  And this is with more information added.  I'm not suggesting that in fact they're lying to us but that it's strange how with a newer version they managed to make it smaller despite there being more features held.  Or was the coding just sloppy on that version... we may never know!

4978 included an FTP server as a proof of concept, this was removed from later versions
