Never Done This Before.
« on: February 10, 2005, 05:28:00 PM »

Never done anything with the tsop before.  I got this used version 1 xbox and it has error 6.  Locked hdd error.  I know what two points to solder together to be able to flash it, but not sure where to go after this.

I have a 80gb wd se I want to put in there.  I know to flash with the 1mb X2_4981_fixed and edit it to point to unleashx.  I want to use that dash.

My friend is going to hook me up with his solderless xenium ice to do the install.

How do I go about things and in what order?  I have no idea if this hdd with the box is the one that is paired to the box.  I have a feeling it isn't.  That's what is causing the error 6 right?  Can you flash the tsop with the xenium ice?

Help is very appreciated.   beerchug.gif

Your an idiot cause you want us to answer all your questions.  There are only a few thousand threads on how to setup a new HD with a modchip.  Apperently you said you have no patience for a modchip....even if its your friends.  No patience in this business causes xboxes to stop working.

Ok.  Thanks Martin.

What if it won't unlock?  I have another hdd that is unlocked.  Can I lock it in?  Then set up my 80gb from there?

Try putting in the chip, put in the 80 gb hdd, format it with slayers or something. Then use config magic to lock the 80gb hdd. Take out the chip and flash the tsop with a gamesave exploit.

Thi way you'll cut out having to work with that stock drive.

No the xenium chip boots from the lpc bus, and bypasses the tsop bios. Inorder to flash the tsop you need to boot from the tsop. So get everything setup and then follow the tuts on how to flash the tsop with a gamesave exploit.

I think you misread my post.

1. Install Xenium
2. Install unlocked 80gb hdd using slayers or another auto installer.
3. Lock 80gb hdd with configmagic.
4. Remove Xenium
5. Flash bios following gamesave tutorials.

Or you could insted of gamesave install a softmod and flash your tsop with that (I would  do this only if you dont have the proper game)

and to jameswalter calm the fuck down man if you think he should of searched just dont anwser. insted of flaming just move on to a ? that meets your terms  (dickhead)

I do have Mech Assault, but I don't have a memory card.  Is that needed?
