If the chip isn't turning on then it isnt installed properly.  Check you soldering for splashes then check the voltages, the correct ones are in my sig.  As far as error 16, its a dash error, I saw it when I was doing a 1.6 once.  Once you find the problem with the chip, you will be able to repair the dash using slayers.

Dood if it frags w/ chip on...you have a problem w/ the install.... correct that and you will be able to fix your hardrive issue.

Yep if it frags it has NOTHING to do with the hd.  A frag means only 1 thing, thats it can't load a bios.  Once you get the chip working you will be able to flash it with a bios such as x2 4983.06 if your on a <1.6 or m8+ if your >1.6 (since you wanted to tsop it I'll assume its a <1.6).  Once you get the new bios on it, you can load up slayers and fix the error msgs.

or it might be installed perfectly but have a wanked bios on there

unlikely but thought I'd ask where you got it from just in case

in anycase - deffo sounds like one of then wires is not right so triple check everything

or failing that the dash error can be corrected by hotswapping the h/d using another modded xbox - then restore the moody dashboard

LMAO its fine, error 5 means the hd is not locked.  Just lock the hd in config magic or evox and you will be able to boot with the chip off (lock it from the xbox you want to use it on).

Ok - first see if ya 2.6 will work in ya other xbox but would of thought you already tried that.....

if it does work in ya other xbox then it would point to ya wire install is moody

however to perform a hotswap dash restore.......

you will need a slayer installer disc unless you want to add a pc to all this

remove both lids off the xbox's but don't power them up yet

place the moody 1.1 on top of your working one

now what you will have to do it position your moody xbox at an angle either 35 degrees or a right angle so that the h/d ide lead from your working xbox can be plugged into the moody h/d

practice getting this at the correct n stable safe position with power off

OK - next - connect the a/v from moody xbox up to xbox but no need for this to go into TV
Connect your working xbox up to the tv so you can see what is going on

now you boot your working xbox up to a evox/slayer disc

boot you moody xbox up - it will start to unlock the h/d - very important this unlocking bit, and then start to flash red/green as it comes up with dash 13/16/21 error - of course you can't see this but you see it fragging

now CAREFULLY unplugg the ide from your moody xbox h/d - not power leave it running

unplug the ide lead from your working xbox and plug it into you moody xbox h/d

now say to your working xbox - rebuild retail h/d on the slayer disc

your working xbox will run the slayer disc and rebuild the moody h/d you just plugged it into - coz it was unlocked on the moody xbox when it attempted to boot up

switch off both xbox's swap back h/d's and you should have a 1.1 with a working 4920 msdashboard

it works coz done it enough times

Ok update,

I just installed the header pin and now with the (CHIP ON) there is no more fragging with the good modded harddrive off my other box and  it still gives (05 error) then red, green, red, green. Before I had the wire install and it just fragged blank black screen with red, green,red.....now its a headerpin and i think its fixed.

Do you think the Hotswap would work now?
Im going to attemp this hotswap unless someone says otherwise.

if it ain't fragging with mod enabled it's fixed ok

the error with mod off is coz it ain't locked like the post said above

you do not need to to do the hotswap really - just throw in a slayer disc on the previous moody error 13/16/21 h/d and rebuild the corrupt h/d or ms dash

then it should work with mod enabled to your chosen dash and then boot only to a working ms dash with the mod off/disabled

Boot to the mod, flash it with x2 4983.06, load slayers, let it format the hd and prep it, lock it, and your done.

Im not out of the water yet I could really use someones help here?

1. I Ran Slayers disc on a error 16 and it booted it up.
2. I flashed it to m8 large harddrive enabled bios
3. I Ran Rebuild Large Harddrive  it worked great 200gigs
4. I took the slayers disc out and rebooted (everything is fine )

  5. I turned the mod chip off to see if i could boot into ms dash and it now only gives me "Error 5" and tells me to go fu*k myself. WHat should I do?

Ideals:
I have another harddrive from another xbox i could use?
I really dont want to do a hotswap. Please dont tell me I have to do that?
I have a 2.6 programer

Now that I think about it Did this occur because i did not lock the harddrive when I had slayers working?

Or is this because I need to do something to the original ms dash?
