If you allready have a TSOP flash, why dont you download evox install it and try and flash. You dont need to use an exploit if you allready have a hacked bios installed.

Try that

Do you have a Winbond (raincoat .7 only) or Sharp (extra wire)?

Well i used solder braide to get all of the old solder off and resoldered and tried Slayers Evox cd and a DVD and Splinter Cell exploit with both versions of Raincoat. No change, it won't erase or flash.

Your friends xbox with the M8 bios.....

If that is what you are after then you want a bios with the reset on eject - not an eject fix like most xecuter bios have

4976.02 did reset on eject but from 4977 the eject fix came along - some like it - some don't

is / was an option with the last 1 or 2 releases to enable/disable this or you can edit the bios with xbtool - but 4981 is a wank with rest on eject under xbtool - it reset's every bloomin time - even at hddloader/xbmc

nuff said is why I mainly stick with with evox M7 usually - the IGR works best under evox dash and so I stick with evox as my main dashboard too

what you might need to try is eurasia and ensure that the config/cfg file includes all sorts of 256kb winbond variations - presume your mobo is an atx psu connector so is a 256kb winbond - 1mb winbonds are quite rare so assuming that you got a 1.2 - 1.5 xbox with a 256kb tsop......

eurasia and ensure these lines are in the config file

Flash = 0xda45,"Winbond W29C020",0x40000
Flash = 0xdab5,"Winbond W39L020",0x40000
Flash = 0xda0b,"Winbond W49F002U",0x40000
Flash = 0xda8c,"Winbond W49F020",0x40000
Flash = 0xdab0,"Winbond W49V002A",0x40000
Flash = 0xda46,"Winbond W29C040",0x40000

Flash = 0xadb0,"Hynix HY29F002",0x40000

Flash = 0x20b0,"ST M29F002T/NT/BT/BNT",0x40000
Flash = 0x2034,"ST M29F002B/BB",0x40000
Flash = 0x20d3,"ST M29F200BT",0x40000
Flash = 0x20d4,"ST M29F200BB",0x40000

above lines taken from raincoat 7 and should cover most of the 256kb tsop

ensuring that only the lines ending in 40000 and lose all the 8's & 10's (= 16 but 10 is hex for 16 btw) - this will ensure that you only flash 256kb chips and never a 1mb tsop with a 256kb bios

anyway grab your bios - evox or what ever floats ya boat and rename that to bios.bin etc........

anyway get all ya stuff together - drop into ya xbox and run via boxplorer if ya xbox has it's tsop already flashed - no original required

if the tray opens then it didn't flash coz either points weren't bridged or it can't find ya tsop / chip ID

it should flash n finish a 256kb in 28/30seconds and turn off

In case your chip is a strange chip id then try this.....

first off delete or rem out all flash lines in ya evox.ini - backup your evox.ini file if needed

after xbox has rebooted try n flash the bitch - it will say device unknown but if your tsop points are done properly you should of seen for a brief split second the ID flash up just before it said it ain't got a fucking clue

in other words it found the chip id and went looking in ya ini file of details how to flash but could find it so said sod this and gave up

if you don't see the ID flash up for a split second then chances are your points aren't correctly bridged

if you do see them flash up briefly then keep trying to flash until you can note the chip id numbers and enter those into a new line in the eurasia/raincoat cfg file

gotta ask though......

how the heck did ya flash it in the first place - it should of only been a case of changing ya old 4977's bios.bin over with a M7 or M8 bios.bin

Well i did use Eurasia like you were saying except i an sorta stumped where it says it read 2 types of flashes. If understand it right there should only be 1 flash  blink.gif

  0xBF, 0x61,"SST SST49LF020",0x40000;
  0xC2, 0x36,"MACRONIX - MX29F022NTPC",0x40000;
  Flash types read 2

  Unknown Device manf=0xDA, dev=0x8C
  Try adding the device ID to raincoat.cfg

I will try and flash with the new device codes but i am sorta stumped on what i should call the chip, is it a "MACRONIX - MX29F022NTPC" or a "SST SST49LF020". I will try one then the other. I pretty sure the name doesn't matter but im not possitive.

EDIT: the windbond does have the device id?

   0xda8c,"Winbond W49F020",0x40000

What do guys think

FINALLY FLASHED!!!!!

What i ended doing was changing all of the lower case letters from the flash device ID's to uppercase and away we went.

Exapmle: Flash = 0xda8c,"Winbond W49F020",0x40000
                                    changed to
              Flash = 0xDA8c,"Winbond W49F020",0x40000

as you see above all actually changed were the DA (i was going to change the c too but i just noticed i forgot thet one/)

What the hell is that all about!!! But anyway thank you very, very much Pizza Pizz for idea to use EurAsia. To answer you other question i originally flashed my bios with the 007 Raincoat exploit. Thanks guys
