V1.0 Installing Switch After Tsop Flashing
« on: January 23, 2005, 08:52:00 AM »

Thanks to you guys, I was able to flash my 1.0 XB ("ST" TSOP) with X4981.06. I had to go through Evox to flash since I could not fit Raincoat and Evox both on my MS memory card (it was too big).

Now I want to install a switch. Just to double check, first, I need to reflash my TSOP with the original bios, which, I believe, is 4034. Then start all over again.

Am I right about all these things?

If you already have 1MB bios on your TSOP, installing a switch will allow you to flash either side, so you don't really have to start all over. Just flip the switch to the side you want to flash and flash with the appropriate bios. If it fails, you have the other side to boot from and reflash (After you flip the switch of course).

Don't forget to make sure the stock bios ur gonna use is 512kb....but u can do it just like u did last time, via evox, just like Blank said, boot up and flash half with 512kb...that's exactly how i do mine on purpose, i flash the entire tsop with X2, the fit the switch, then flash half with 512k stock bios...whatever bios ur gonna be using the most, make sure that bios on the "ground" side of the siwtch.

@Johnnyhunng

That's a good news.  This is what I am about to do then.

First, resize the original bios to 512k using x2bm.

Second, I would put a line like this in evox.ini file
QUOTE
Item "5b10) Flash TSOP w/ original bios",@281

[Action_81]

Info "Flash TSOP with original bios"
flashbios "c:\Bioses\4034.bin"

Would this work?
