I Smoked My Tsop ( My Own Fault )

If you think you might be able to solder the chip itself, then you will be fine fitting a 29wire mod.   That will get your xbox booting again, and be able to fix your broken tsop.  Then you can remove the 29 wire job.

Otherwise you should be able to put a normal LPC mod in there and get the box working again.  You will need to leave the chip in though.

Both of those options are far more simple and less likely to go wrong, than swapping your tsop.

Let's face it, it'd be easier to hot-swap a kidney than a TSOP!

Of course, they were in a socket.

Why hotswap?  Power down, solder the new TSOP chip in, and it should boot the MS BIOS (assuming the mobos are the same kernel version).

I also have 40-pin TSOP sockets for sale smile.gif

I want to buy a TSOP40 socket. two will be even better... Below is my story.

I've just fucked up a 1.0 box in my tsop flash attemp.  This is my second 1.0 box that had been very challenging.

First of all, the LPC did not work.  I'd tried three different modchips, AladdinXT, X3, and XBIT v1.5.  I've tried Pin Header, Pogo Pin, and wire soldering.  None of the combination worked.  I managed to swap the EEPROM to get a locked hdd to boot the original MS Dash.  Then using the MechAssault exploit to boot the emergency linux.  Raincoat correctly identified the ST chip and flashed a 1MB version of X2 4983.  Then that's the end of it.  It FRAG afterward...  This is the exactly same HDD that I used for my previous v1.0 box TSOP flash.  The same raincoat.  The latest x2 4983 made to 1mb myself...

I just fixed my screwed tsop flash using an lpc mod. I had to first flash the chip with an embedded xecuter 4981 bios and edit the bios to add the hdd key. that is the only way I could boot up the box. then I restored my origional eeprom using eeprommagic.
