can you flash the xbox's TSOP chip on a v1.6? If so how can it be done? do you have to do any sodering?

As soon as my warranty is due i am going to look at it.
Can anyone confirm if MS itself is able to flash the bios ?

I got someone telling me that it IS possible to flash a 1.6 Xbox ... I told him that it wasn't possible. I told him the only thing you can do is softmod it. Then he said that was true up 'til now... that they have new software that makes it possible to flash a 1.6

of course after looking for info on it, I can't come up with any... reading this makes it apparent he's full of shit... unless he knows something that no one else does.

doubt it ...

I keep asking him to send me info on how it is done, but he hasn't yet... so I'm sure he's full of it.

ok, so there's no TSOP on a 1.6, which intrigues me to know as to where in buggery the BIOS is loaded from when you power up the Xbox.

there must be a discussion about it somewhere, hopefully I'll find it.
