If you remove the chip and it frags, then there is a problem on your motherboard.  Check for solder splashes or lifted traces.  Your mobo is damaged.

tutorials that helped me and the one above.....

http://www.biline.ca/xbox_mod.htm

some of the pinned ones are ok and the ones in the tutorials section......

also i think there are different game exploit packages out, just get the one that says evox and raincoat in the title...

edit: also note that after soldering the tsop points on the motherboard your matrix modchip will not light up green anymore when you are trying to align it... it will always be red... so for me it was a hit and miss thing till i got it..... i customised the bios to get rid of the animation and change the colour of the x so that i could tell if the modchip was in the right place or not.....

This isn't going to get you anywhere, if the mobo still frags when you remove your chip, then everything leads to a broken motherboard, possibly your MCPX popped.  Listen to acemilo he is talking sense.

can you replace a MCPX chip if it pooped. and how do you test it to see if has popped. going to take the matriz off tonight and check my lpc voltages witha voltmeter. then check resistance for broken traces. now can i ckeck mcpx chip if a voltmeter.
