Bios Erased By Accident
« on: August 05, 2004, 09:24:00 PM »

7 days ago my brother-in-law flashed my softmoded box by accident dry.gif !
I've gone through many fhreads before posting this one.
My xbox is v1.0 and was running evox. I don't know if its possible for me to replace the bios back. I have the 1mb bios, but I don't have a mem card or mechassalt, 007 etc... but if I have to solder wires or something, I'm willing to do it...

can anyone help me out??? biggrin.gif

thanx...........

Why didn't you delete the option to flash the tsop once it was flashed? You coudl've just as easily edited it back into evox, that is one precaution I am sure as hell making when I do my system.

most people use the mechassalt and 007 agent under fire to softmod the xbox.
if your xbox is version 1.0 you have to get the 1mb bios. you can download a 256kb bios and size it to 1024kb or 1mb! there is a program to do that, I used the xecuter2bm.... I'm just wondering about how to put this bios in my xbox unsure.gif

Wait, if you have a softmodded xbox, then you never opened it right?  And you never soldered the points right?  So whats the problem?

if you never open the xbox, and never sodlered the write enable points then its impossible to erase or flash or do anything to teh TSOP

Exactly what i meant.  Its impossible for him to have erased the tsop if you didnt do the soldering.

the evolutionX has an option to flash the bios in settings

if you go to flash bios in evox with a softmod (no soldering on write enable points) it reports the flash is not writable and does nothing

you have another problem somewhere

maybe he's getting the Tsop mod confused with softmod? He might think it's a softmod 'cause he didn't add a chip *shrugs*   dry.gif

Well what they're saying is it would be impossible to flash your bios if the proper points weren't bridged... In order for the xbox to flash the bios there are points on the motherboard that need to be soldered, or bridged.

They're saying if you did a soft mod, you never got inside the case to solder those points. So if the points aren't bridged, the bios never got erased.

get it?

But i have one more question; I opened my xbox and I saw no soldering points on the motherboard, what happened then and how do I fix it?

thanks guys, I'm getting it, sorry cuz I'm new on this subject, you are helping me a lot...........
