incorrect, a retail bios, regardless of how or where it was loaded, is safe to use on Live

If you can't lock your hdd now, ice won't do anything for it either--one way or another, the hdd needs to be locked for use with the original bios (In this case, XBL). If you happen to have a hdd that CAN'T be locked, you're shit out of luck.
