it can be reflashed with a hacked bios, so it works just like a modchip, but without having to spend money on a chip

of course it cant be disabled (unless you split a1.0/1.1 TSOP)

but why would u want to RE-FLASH it?  if its flashed right the first time, why re-flash it?  wouldnt u lose everything u already put on after the first flash?

yeah, you loose everything that was on it, but the TSOP is just a 1mb or 256kb flash rom on the motherboard, it has nothign to do with the hard drive, which is probably what your thinking of, anything on the hard drive would still be there

Flash memory chips work like that.

The hacked BIOS is 256K, or 1 meg, or some other odd ways of splitting it, if you're into that sort of thing.

To get the hacked BIOS onto your TSOP, you have to remove everything on the chip, and then write the complete image of the hacked BIOS to the chip.  It came flashed from the factory.  It's got that devil retail BIOS on it which won't let us play our backups/homebrew software.  So, we reflash it to get around those constraints.

but still I ask, why would you want to re-flash it?

Because M$ was the first to flash it, and they just flashed a retail bios to it.  The owner is the one who flashes over THAT bios with a hacked one.  I.E. The owner RE-flashed the chip.

If you have to ask yourself why reflash it, then you dont have a need for a modchip.  Reflashing the onboard bios is gives the same results as using a modchip but without the need to buy and install a chip.
