Splinter Cell Tsop Problem
« on: May 18, 2004, 06:09:00 AM »

Hi,
I am trying to flash my box using the splinter cell gamesave with raincoat... but i am having trouble loading it from the memory card in the splinter cell menu..
is there a way to get it to load or is there a way to copy it from memory card to a non modded xbox hard drive?

I just did this mod, but before I relized that I had a winbond chip (that can not be flashed by evox) I had swapped the hard drive.  So I just coppied the saved game directly to the drive.
I am pretty sure that it does need to be on the drive, I only briefly read the documentation that came with that method but I do remember it saying to copy the files to your udata directory before attempting.
I dont own a memory card, so I cant test things for you... check out the M$dash memory menu  ;)

Edit: The documentation also said something about it not working because of a newer version of splinter, altho mine is not that old and it worked.... good luck!!

I dont know how much you understand, so...

Original HD's are locked by the M$ bios, if you have the key for it and the utilities your golden! Otherwise you will have to hotswap, which I am king at ;)

What I had done was started with the font exploit.  So I was already into the hard drive.
Putting linux on a machine takes a while so I just used the simple splinter cell / raincoat method when I found that I had a winbond chip.  I coppied over the saved game directory provided, and removed my previous exploits. Loaded up splinter and the saved game, that was called 'linux'.  And was good to go, until I had to change my routers gateway to match the linux distro. But after that the telnet was easy and I was in!

Getting Exploit on Xbox and using it

(Xbox must have proper points soilder and networked to your pc)

1.First You have to decide which bios you are going to use and need 256k or 1mb
and put it in 21585554\000000000000\raincoat folder and name it bios.bin.

2. ftp into a modded xbox goto E: directory/ UDATA
and place folder 21585554 and 5553000c in that folder.

2A. If you don't have a modded xbox you have to hot swap and use hddriver to
get in to the drive and place the files in UDATA directory. skip to 4 if you did
     it this way.

3. (Modded xbox)Boot to xbox dash and go into memory and copy both files to
the memory card. once copied connect memory card to unmodded xbox and
   copy files to hard drive.

4. Now instert game, start game and select linux (screen will flash)now you should
be in evox screen goto to raincoat and select it and let it load.

5. Now goto command prompt and type,     Telnet 192.168.0.64
   login: root
   pass: xbox

#  cd /media/E/UDATA/21585554/000000000000/raincoat
#  ./raincoat -p bios.bin

now you should see a bunch of stuff on the screen
   checking,erasing,programming, complete.

6. turn off you xbox insert you slayers install disk and you should be ready to go.

Using the MS Dash you must copy the saves from the memory card to the HD.  The MS Dash lets you do this.

Just be sure not to try putting a 1MB BIOS in the MC, you should put the gamesave hack and the Raincoat 7 with a 256K BIOS it doesn't matter if you have a 1MB TSOP cause Raincoat 7 Flahes the 4 banks of the chip with 256K making it 1MB just make sure you have Raincoat 7 otherwise it will never fit on the memory card.
