F: Drive Not Formatting
« on: March 10, 2004, 03:28:00 AM »

So some pencil neck friend of a friend wanted to have his xbox 'chipped' but did not want to upgrade the hdd.

In the 30 or so I have chipped and flashed I have never had to prep a retail HDD.

I used Slayers disk to format the drives but it did not format f:

I thought I saw a post on this recently but I am stuffed if I can find it.

I did not bother to unlock the drive before prepping. Not sure if this is a contributing factor.

Can anyone please shed some light on this issue?

Thanx.

Yeah you cant formatt a retail HD to have an F: Drive...There's not enough space to do this.....It has nothing to do with the xbox being locked or not...

You can format a retail drive to have an F:, as long as it's one of the Seagates.  This'll give you 2GB to play with, useful for installing emulators and stuff.
