i need some help from u guys. i have a XBOX 1.1 (with that horrible little fan :() and some guy flashed it for me the summer before last. i got the aniciet evox v.2.2 and i want to change it to something a little more modern. i belive i got a hynix bios but i don't know how big it is but i belive that it is a 1024k chip but i don't know. i should be able to flash it using evox an using a proper bios. can u recomend any bios for me since i been away from the "scene" for quite som time.....

Yeah your bios is a 1024k bios, therefore you need a bios that size unless you have a switch on your box. Any bios will work, but if you want something up to date I recommend using Evox M7 or X2 4981.

Are you flashing through evox? or with a boot disc?

Probably a question for the bios forums but...  X2 4981 or Evox m7 should do you fine.  I would grab a copy of the latest evolutionX too while your at 'the usual places'

i use evox on my hd, is the bios 1024? what is the latest version of evox? i have a switch but it only prevents you from deleting the bios

Yes your bios is 1024 (1mb) but if you update your evolutionX you are sure to have a version that will resize the bios to fit, what ever size it is.

can I boot the new evox from a cd an the flash? i don't want to install it over my previous version(bad experiences:()

yes, you can load from a cd, or even install a second instance of evox in your apps folder and load it that way


but, the new version of evox is great and i highly reccomend updating

well now i got the latest build o evox installed on my HDD and it's running fine. i was about to flas the onboard bios but i says like this

manufacturer ID 01 Device d5
Flash Typ AMD - Am29F080B

AMD? is that the manufacturer of the bios-chip?
