i dont think anyone is going to do it for free considering that the pads have been ripped off. if your 13 with no soldering skills and have no money, then the xbox shouldn't really be played around with.

when i solder points on the xbox, i firstly run the soldering iron over the points and apply a small amount of solder. This is to make the points easier to connect. Secondly i get a multi-threaded wire (like the ones from headphone cables), strip it and preapre 1 strand to use. I then run the soldering iron and solder over that 1 strand (called tinning). When both the points and wire is ready, i simply place the tinned wire over each of the tiny points and gently solder it on. This is what ive found to be the easiest and most reliable way of connecting the flash points.

everyone to their own i guess...

You know that some chips (winbonds) can only be flashed with raincoat right?

lots of tutorials and help on raincoat flashing in the pinned topic.

but use x2 4981 or m7 bios even if the tutorial say 4978 or anything else

Don't take this the wrong way, but how did you screw up just bridging the pads???

Anyway, if the pads are damaged beyond repair, you can find the traces that lead to those pads and use a wire to connect those traces.  Bear in mind that will be a lot more difficult than just putting down a droplet of solder to bridge two pads...

first off, how do you know your box is a 1.5 ?

secondly, did you know 1.5's have a small protective plastic coating over the points needed to bridge, (so they say)... anyways, for the books, your suppose to gently scratch away the coating before soldering.. this could very well explain why your soldering job didnt work in the first place.

You still want to solder? Best to have someone look at it for you. Check Modchip Installers
