Aligator Clips/ Normal Wires
« on: February 23, 2004, 12:34:00 PM »

i mean, its still doing basically the same thing as soldr, connecting the pouints.

So could i attach one end of an aligator clip to each point or just wrap a wire around them?

If the points you are refering to are the tsop write enable points. Thay are tiny spots on the motherboard, no where to clip anything, and i doubt you could find clips small enough.

Hehe, aligator clips!

even if you could find clips small enough there is nothign to clip to (or wrap a wire around) the points are just soldering pads, they are flush with the motherboard

I'm in the UK, but you should be able to find one in any good electronics store.  Do they have radioshacks in canada?

I suggest getting a soldering iron...Just because they're easier to find.

All I had to do was connect them by dragging the pad from on to the other with the tip. It fused incredibly easy.

Get a rear window defooger repair kit from Canadian Tire, if you don't want to solder.  You are better off with the $12 15W soldering iron from Radioshack tho, its not all that hard. I learned to solder to do mine, and have done over a dozen of them w/out screwing one up.
