Tsop Bios Killed: How Can It Be Recovered!
« on: February 19, 2004, 04:01:00 AM »

HI,

well, i'm just interested how does it possible to flash a TSOP, which does not include a working BIOS, with the LPC Bus!

Because, if you boot from LPC, you have just access to the LPC FLash but not to the TSOP. Now tell me please how some of you realise that! I red here about, to wait 1sec. and then remove the lpc flash..

But can one tell me better and more technical.. ;)

LPC mods can not fix a broken TSOP (to my knowledge) you need a 29 wire homebrew mod or a matrix (which i think only works on some version).

If D0 is grounded, the Xbox thinks that the TSOP is not present and switches to LPC mode instead.  It will not switch back until the Xbox is reset.

So yes, if you want to recover the flash it's 29-wire time!  If you just want to get the machine working though (rather than reprogramming the TSOP) an LPC mod will do the job.
