Tsop Flash Winbond Chip Using Raincoat .501
« on: January 13, 2004, 05:58:00 PM »

Hi could you please help me please because I'm really confused.

I got an xbox with the following configurations:
Xbox Version:                   1.4 or 1.5
Dashboard Version                   1.00.4920.01
Kernel Version                   1.00.5101.01
HDD Model                   Seagate ST310014ACE
DVD Drive Manufacturer   THOMPSON TGM600
BIOS CHIP                   WINBOND
VGA CHIPS                   FOCUS

I also did the following:
1. HDD swap with WinXP using HDD-Driver software to copy the font-exploit into the Xbox HDD
2. Loaded the FREEX-EVOX 1.8.3752 files into the xbox C: drive
3. Bridged the two points on top of the motherboard to enable Tsop flashing.

After done that I was able to boot into Evolution X, and followed the tutorial to flash the Tsop, but found out later by reading a lot of posts in the forum that the FREE-EVOX software can't flash the windbond bios.

I also read a lot of posts that said I can flash it with raincoat .501 but I needed the original 007 game and a memory card. (In my case I figured out I don't need the memory card because I can put the files on the HDD using hot swap).  However, I can't get hold of an original 007 game

My question is can I flash my tsop using raincoat .501 without the original 007 game? If I can is there a step by step guide that shows me how to do it? as I know nothing about linux.  With the HDD Swap I can put anyfiles on the hard drive without any problems, I also now can use ftp to transfer files from computer to xbox as well.

I was also thinking about the softmod option but someone on the other post said that I can't softmod my xbox because it got a FOCUS chip in it.  Can someone confirm this for me?

Thanks in advance.

download the 007withraincoat save, load up evox, and FTP the default.xbe fromt eh raincoat save (and all the other stuff) to the same folder (overwriting the evox default.xbe) then when you reboot it will load up the minilinux, you may need to sign the xbe with xbedump.exe -sfont

How do I sign the xbe? or this is the command "xbedump.exe -sfont "?

Also once I got minilinux running do I just telnet to the xbox from my computer and run the commands shown in one of the tut?

Can you also confirm the other question as well?
After I got linux running I just follow the guide and telnet to the xbox and type the command ./raincoat -p bios.bin to flash the bios right?

I've been searching the xbox-scene for xbedump but can't find it anywhere, I can find a lot of other xbe tools such as xbe renamer, xbe patch, xbe mediapatcher2 but not xbedump, is xbedump a freeware? can I use any of the other tools mention to sign the xbe?

hey lv!  if i remember correctly..  you have to assign every single game you play with the xbe's right?  anyways...  you know they have video game rental stores to try stuff before you buy it, right? hehe.. LOL!  too much work for me so, I hope not too many of you use this method, unless you live 200 miles away from anything cept a phone line.

/edited   actually.. i would drive more than 200 miles to rent it, if i had too.. now that i think about it..

just for you.. try ebay out.. i picked up a few titles of it for $5-$15 or even the new 007 will work.  you might have to change the game saves around a bit but, still flash it..
