Replace A Hd Whitout A Modchip? -error Code 6

Hi! I have a problem!
I bought a x-box which had a broken hd. And i thought no problem -I can use my brothers old hd from his X-box. But when i power it up it says error 06 and the leds fleshing red and green. What shall i do to make the HD work whitout a chip? Is it possible to format it in another x-box whit a chip? Would it work? Plz help!

Just stop what you're trying to do right now. You can't. If you have an Xbox with a dead HDD and you don't have the unlock key, you are stuck unless you mod the Xbox. Once modded, you still can't use a locked HDD from another Xbox in it, only an unlocked drive, or one that's locked to match the Xbox you're using it in.

put the old HD back in your brothers xbox and unlock it, then youll need a modchip in the new xbox to boot the unlcoked drive, but once you lock the drive you can remove the modchip

Okej. I have unlocked the HD in my brothers box now. but i wonder:
-Is it possible to flash the Tsop throu raincoat whitout a hd?
-Is it possible to play 007 whitout boting from the hd?
Or am I on deep water now?

Your gonna have to get a mod..to fix your HD problem first...then you can do the 007 trick or just leave the mod in....

the xbox needs a HD to boot, with a modchip it can be an unlocked HD, without a mod it needs to be locked to the proper password for that motherboard

I tested putting my brothers chip onto my mb but it dident work! It boots as normal (d0 point an gnd is properly connected) and i get the same error. And when I putted the chip back into my brothers xbox the same happend! It boots as normal! whin the normal msdashboard. Not the evox and under the Xbox logo it says "MS" instead of exutor2
What happend? And what do I do to make it right agin?
