Tsop Prof. Question
« Reply #18 on: January 11, 2004, 06:00:00 PM »

Interesting idea.

May this help:
1.Use a Font or Audio Exploit to allow the xBox run Evox or other Dashboards (no need to open the xBox)
2.Run ConfigMagic to write the EEPROM

I've done this before to CLONE an xBox, so both xBox has the same EEPROM data, both can UnLock the same HD at start and report same xBox Serial Number.
My question is:
Is possible to modify the EEPROM, so xBox can read BackUps? without modifying the Bios???

smile.gif only the question is ... when you back up the EEPROM data like you did ... will it be able to save it in the TSOP? I guess not sad.gif but does the features work on HD when you did the CLONE trick? If so, can you answer this?

1) if i have an virgin xbox, can i copy all the data to the harddisk with the exploit from my modded xbox so it will load EVOX or some other crap from the HD? without flashing or modifing xbox?

2) dont say the word modchip or solder when you answer because thats all the trick for money i guess wink.gif

as long as I know, EEPROM doesn't has the data to allow or prohibit backup disk running.
So flashing the EEPROM will not let you run backups.

Is there a way to flash your xbox without soldering, use something to conect the points, hold it for a while, flash the bios, then relese the connection, if you do this you'll see no soldering points, no conductive-pen painting, nothing on the board and your xbox is flashed.

BTW AR ... yes it will be fine if there is a way like that to upgrade the bios ... it will also nice if you can do it with an mod chip that you can connect (without to solder or something) and flash the bios with the LPC and flash the TSOP (without soldering or connecting the points to scarpe your mobo) and after flashing remove the mod. This will be nice

Font or Audio Exploit  will let you run backups without opening the xbox
Once your xbox can use no-retail-game DVDs, you could run programs like dashboard, media players, etc
Using Evolution X you may create a backup of your EEPROM, then load this EEPROM file with ConfigMagic in other xbox to flash the EEPROM of the second xbox, then the second xbox will become a CLONE of the first one.
Warning!!! After you write the EEPROM to the second xbox, the second xbox's HDD Lock/Unlock key will change, so you must do UNLOCK the HDD then LOCK it again while in ConfigMagic. NEVER TURN OFF THE XBOX WITHOUT DOING THIS! your xbox will not be able to Unlock this new-EEPROMed HDD with the old key

Well I must say that this thread has been funny reading so far. First of all the original poster is so awful at forming sentences that it's just hilarious. Then he brings up using an eeprom programmer to flash his tsop and someone mistakes that for actually flashing the eeprom. HAHA
This is great. Let me straighten this out so you all can quit posting.

You were correct in stating that an eeprom programmer can be used. They are not cheap however. You can make your own or buy one but I believe they are around 40 or 50 us dollars. This is not to be confused with the xbox's eeprom which has absolutely NOTHING to do with any of this. We are concerned with the xbox's tsop (tsop= thin single outline package- describes chip type). This is an eeprom but we refer to it as tsop because it helps to prevent confusion with noobs as we have seen with you fellows. (eeprom= electronically eraseable programmable read-only memory) As you can see all these flash chips are eeproms, but we are concerned with the tsop and not the xbox's eeprom. Now that that's solved we can move on.

This programmer you refer to will be great for you since you can recover from bad flashes and everything but it is kinda pricey. The only other alternatives for tsop flashing involves closing the 2 traces on the motherboard that write-enable the tsop. (note:  there are only 2 points that need to be closed on ANY version of xbox.) You MUST close those jumpers if you use any method other than the tsop flasher. If you want instructions on how to make it just go here.

dont you have to remove the entire chip to use an eeprom programmer? seems liek a lot more work that just soldering 2 pojtns and flashing (or installing a modchip, lol)

but yeah, this second page is a pretty funny read

With what kinda clip did you make the contact to the 2 points? So can you just use an clip to flash the TSOP? that will be cool

get 007 agent under fire original and a hacked 007 agent underfire gamesave load the gamesave to the unmodded xbox via a mem card load original 007 load the gamesave and it boots to evox

do your tsop flash points before hand with conductive ink most of us do it correct everytime and do not need any eeprom programmers it takes me less than 10 mnts to do all of the above and works every time sometiems shit happenes but its yet to happen to me after a good year of doing this you just have to know what your doing 100% or just dont bother it can all be doen now without posting here as any question you could possibly dream up has been covered here.
