Ok here is the point Im at, I am writing a tutorial on how to fix your 1.0-1.5 TSOP (If it is completely hosed) using a 29 wire homebrew chip. I purchased a preflashed chip with 4979.06 so it will work will all consoles and Ive got 3 SPST switches one on 16, 32 and one between 31 and 32 so I can turn it off rather then popping the chip out of the socket post boot. The picture diagrams in the tutorial section show a 1.3-1.5 schematic where there is a point labeled "33" well there is no pin 33 on a 32 pin chip so I assume this is the wire that goes to 32 on the motherboard (meaning there are two sources connected to +5 v) this is like the 32 point on 1.0-1.1 that goes to the motherboard and there is also a 32 that goes to the chip. Anyone know for sure?

Also if someone might be so kind as to lend me a bad flashed motherboard so I can try this out and make sure it works if the tsop is hosed, Id appreaciate it. (would send back if repair successful)

why not just flash your own tsop and as its half way through erasing power it off, that way you nuke your own and can test it till your hearts content without anyone needing to send you their motherboard

haha, no. thanks though. This was more a way to get someones fixed for free but you know what I guess people want to go out and spend approx $20 to fix their tsop then have someone do it for free for the sake of writing a tut.

Yeah Im writing a tut and the total cost for the mod will be about $20. Not too shabby I dont think.
Anyone got an answer to that question?!

Ok first off in the diagram is says that pins 31 and 32 are connected on the homebrew. Well there is a lead that comes
from that and it connects to pad 32 and 33 on the xbox motherboard. I hope that answers your quesion. And not to mention
That it needs to be cut in order to flash. Other wise pad 33 on the xbox is getting 5V so make sure you have a switch there as well.

yup got a switch on 16, 32, and between 31 & 32 and what I now have labeled 32b

So pin 32 connects to two points, I think I got it. So what exactly does pad 33 do and does it normally have no voltage and thus we are supplying +5 V to it. I think thats the gist of it... Ok well the hunt for a bad tsop flashed motherboard continues, where are all those noobs with 1.5 with < 4979 on them when you need them?

Pad 32 on the mainboad is one of the LPC connectors and it allready has 5V we supply pad 33 the 5V.
Ask me why I can't explain that I just know that that is what needs to be done.

Well, if I ever get my damn homebrew chip in I could wire it up to this improperly flashed TSOP v1.0 that I have and let you know how it goes! Still waiting!

There is already a tuturial to disable a homebrew chip. You would just power up the XBox, flip the switch, and flash the TSOP. Look in the tutorial section.

However I normally just make the Link to 32 wire real long. Snip it and then yank the chip out of the socket.

yanking the chip can lead to pin damage/breakage and further lead to a busted chip, so I think it would be better to use switches since you risk less damage to the hardware you invested in

i'll write the tutorial for you:

wire your homebrew, boot, go to raincoat, cut all wires, flash.

you need nothing more to repair a bad flashed tsop
