You need to unlock the factory harddrvie before you can swap the new one.  Use slayer 2.5 to do this,  or config magic final.

Quick question . . . Here it says that there is an additional set of points on the bottom of the mobo to bridge . . . but the statement is for V1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 xboxes.  What I am understanding from this thread is that for 1.4 and 1.5 xboxes, THAT BOTTOM BRIDGE IS NOT NECESSARY . . . please verify.  Thanks.

Also what size bios of the 4979.67 did you use?  256k or 1024?  I think it's the 256k...

I'm just now getting into TSOP flashing . . . I've installed a bunch of chips, but most of my friends don't do Xbox Live and so don't really need a chip.

So far I've done only one TSOP flash using the mechassault saved game tactic on a v1.0 box.  Word.

Wouldn't the defroster repair kit paint be more of a permanent solution?????

the paint scrapes off really easily if you want to remove it afterwords. I left it on for future convenience myself.

Flashed tsop with x2 bios 4979 256k, v1.4 xbox

both 1.4 and 1.5 only two points are necessary, see inside this subject thread previously someone posted the pic that you have to solder only two bridges.

I flashed a V1.4 Today, it had an ST Chip. I solder all the point, the TOP and Bottom, they are easy so I din't care.

Anyways, I flashed it with

Xecuter II - 4977 - 256 Kb BIOS

....I feel so stupid now.... Anyways an Xecuter 2.3 Lite Chip is on its way for another friend, I hope that can solve this guy's Problem.

Cool, thanks for the reply! Does anyone know if I'll be able to put a cloned larger HDD into the XBox after the TSOP flash? I'm thinking of cloning my friend's XBox HDD (using bit-for-bit copy with something like Norton Ghost) and then slapping that into my XBox after the TSOP flash. That HDD uses the EvolutionX dashboard, FWIW. Does that sound like something that can actually work?
