this is what i did but i couldn't succeed
i did hot swap the hdd and download the 007raincoat0501 in udata,,
solder the two top point and telnet to my xbox ,run raincoat -p bois.bin ,,
( i got UNKNOWN DEVICE read only??? manf=0x09, dev0=00 )
i have bad soldering skills but im sure that they are connected,,any suggest, i will be aprocheated

"bois.bin"? you type "bios.bin" right?

I got the same thing except mine was:

"UNKNOWN DEVICE read only??? manf=da, dev=8c"

Did and redid all three points- was ripping my hair out.

All I did was update to raincoat .501 and it flashed! And left out the 0x900 from my conf too.

That is the correct reply ID from the TSOP. The TSOP ID was not entered in the raincoat /etc/raincoat.conf file.
That's why upgrading to 5.01 worked it's in there already.

That's the wierd thing- originally I only updated the raincoat.conf to the one from .501 and not raincoat itself and it didn't work. It started working when I updated the raincoat file itself (449k in size - the one I had originally was a little smaller).

Damn, I didn't want to use the raincoat, even though I'm a linux user myself. The Evox is SOO much easier. Ahh perhaps the older i get the less love of the command line I have, (mmmmm dos...) Yea that is the id that i am getting from the board too. DA 8C. Oh well, time to raincoat the sucker.

Yep.
Thank my fellow countryman Exobex for fixing the error on the Raincoat 0.5 file for you.
That's why it worked!!
