Only way to be absolutely sure is to break out a multimeter and check the connection.

Visual inspection is oftentimes not enough.

Unless you actually get to a certain percentage erased (like 25%) or so, then no..it's not wierd.

Usually the evox thing will look like it's going to erase and then halt (it has problems doing winbond chips anyways which is why you need to use raincoat)

You can still get to that point and have a bad soldering job....

im having the same problem. im using the 007_with_evox_installed_PLUS. i soldered the 1 pair of points on the top of my v1.3, and 1 set on the bottom. It says press Y to flash but then freezes while erasing. My xbox is not damaged. Whats happening? my connections test goodwith a multimeter.  Thanx.

First off, if it's a 1.3, the bottom point isin't necessary, there's two points on top that you need to solder.  You may have ended up soldering the same point on the bottom as it is on the top (there's an alternate point for a top point on the bottom.)

I'd suggest soldering that other point on the top of the board.  Also, if yo have a winbond chip, you will need to use raincoat as evox can't flash it.

Don't forget that EvolutionX won't flash Winbond-equipped Xboxes.
