I want to flash my tsop with the following details.

I have a v1.5 and

I want to solder only the two points on top of the MOBO.

I have a W49F020T-90B Bios and this one is 256Kb

I want to flash it with bios X2 4979.06_256k.bin from the repack release

I want to use 007 with evox installer.

I have edit the lines in my evox.ini

Flash = 0x0900,"Winbond - W49F020T",0x40000

Bios is in bios directory.

Savegame is on memory stick.

Is it save for me to flash it with 007Evox ? I spended the last three hours on reading and i became unsure about the 007 with Evox. Instead of that using raincoat ?

Can anybody help me

i used raincoat for anything except this one odd xbox i got my hands on. it was a 1.4 or 1.5 i had the newest raincoat and everything but it wouldnt flash for crap so i downloaded the 007 evox installer and ran it and it worked fine. odd. i didnt install evox off there of corse if just flashed then rebooted and stuck in 2.5 slayers

I read that evox do not handle winbond ship correctly. I used raincoat to flash mine (1.4 box and winbond flashrom).

Tried to flash with evox BUT hang when you get the status bar erasing bios.
Crossed my fingers and rebooted, luckely bios was not erased!!!!

What is the problem ?
I only solderded the two jumpers on top of the MOBO ! Is that enough or are they not solderd good or must i solder the jumper on bottom of the MOBO for erasing the bios ?

Or else is evox not working and must i try raincoat..?

Please advice, i dont know it anymore!!!

if its a tsop winbond chip u must use raincoat the evox installer i used on a hynix chip

same version xbox but soldered 3 points chicken to go for the next steps but hey i did read that the M7 bios works for tsop and the others might kill ur bios    read it here ...

Use raincoat, make sure all the jumper points are connected. They are the same points as seen on a 1.3/1.4 if i'm not mistaken.

No no wait read more i flashed a v1.1 with M7 and it was a bad flash red light!!
I heard that the x2 repack is better.

I think i solder the jumper on the bottem and try it with raincoat.

and do u still have chance to reflash it after a bad bios and red light    i thought it dies then

Just save the time and effort..use Raincoat for all...Never had a prob with it at all

M7 and 4979 work on ALL versions of xbox

evox will NOT flash a winbond chip

I have a 1.5. in the past i had a 1.1. About three days ago. I only can fix the 1.1 with a MOD chip, but i couldn't wait for it. I bought another xbox and that happens to be a1.5

I finally did it. I used raincoat + 0.5, soldered the two points on top of mobo.
Used x2 4979.06 #repack 256kb bin file.
