Eeprom?

im doing a project on config magic and was just wondering what exactly is an eeprom?? my main goal is to understand how config magic's function of locking and unlocking hdd's is done and how the eeprom comes into play...any answers would greatly be appreciated...thanks

sweet thanks alot man...also would u have any idea how in general config magic unlocks and locks a hard drive? i know the eeprom is part of it...

im not totally sure but ill throw this out someone will have to confirm or deny.

Configmagic looks to eeprom for hdd information then looks at hdd and does a little magic and send the password to the hardrive to unlock it lol very general idea
