Have you tried to bootup the machine while having the lan cable plugged into a pc using a crossover or hub?

Just tried that, didnt work. Turns off and on 3 times, red and green.  Something to do with these 1.3 xboxes. I live in florida also and I have had the power go out while I was using my 1.0 and 1.1 xboxes but they always booted up just fine.

Checked if the A/V cables were plugged in correctly? Usually when you bootup an xbox w/o the av connector it just flashes red/green. If that is the case perhaps something is shorted  or like you said the tsop may be fragged. Are you using the retail HD or a replacement?

I am using the retail HD in this one, still locked and everything. The AV cable is plugged in just fine, if it wasn't plugged in fine it would be flashing Orange and Green usually. But this is all red and green still. I'll see if I can slap a matrix on there and see what happens.

Nope, it flashes amber/green if the AV cable is out.  Red/green means trouble.

have you guys went and RE SOLDERED the motherboard,

it sounds to me like maybe a bad soldering job.

but it also sounds like a bad capacitor to as the other guy said.

tsop flash no soldering,, man dude im new to the tsop for xbox but im not aware of ANY tsop that is just flash you MUST solder the motherboard to do the tsop flash.

and i are you quite sure about if the solder poitns get broken ??  its possible if the points are weak and the solder is joining and disconnecting its causing the box not to boot, especially if you unplug it for a bit.

im just trying to throw around ideas,   the cpacitors are real sensaative to being bent so if your think you may have bent one it may have broken the soldering on the connectors. but who knows..

you do NOT need to solder the motherboard to do the tsop flash, you can use conductive ink, or conductive pen. also it does not mather weather the points are connected correctly after the flash or not. the bridged points are only used to write-enable to the onboard chip. i kno it worked fine because it finished the process (at the end it shut down like it sayd it was doing)

"you can use conductive ink, or conductive pen"

its the same thing man,, for you  or anyone else to say you dont have to solder to do the tsop,, someone who dont know about the tsop could come here and think they dont have to do anything,, just flash the bios,, and then they are asking a million questions about why it didnt work.

you NEED to connect the points on the motherboard, whether its solder or conductive spooge.
people should clarify id they say something like you dont need to solder. what do you expect people to think when they see someone say that.

i know i just want pepople to clarify what they mean since the forum is always host to a new guy wanting to do this, i just want them to understand that NO SOLDER does not mean it flashes all by its self, you still have to modify it.
sorry for being a bit of an ass.
