xbox v1.3 TSOP: Hynix HY29F002TT-90
manufactured date: 6/16/2003
soldered top two points only
flashed TSOP with Evox without problems.

I could not get it to flash using raincoat even after editing the config file.  It seems like everyone suggests downloading the raincoat exploit and then updating it, but it was much easier for me to just modify the AUF with Evox .ini file to include the newer chipsets.  If raincoat is so easy to use then why is an updated version not already on #xbins?  I must have gotten something mixed up when trying to upgrade it myself, so I'm glad the AUF w/ Evox worked for me.

i used the contents of the 007 hack, (lunix xbe, and raincoat)
re-asigned it using xbedump (to fonts)
then u can run this normally ..
then ya can run raintcoat, and hey presto smile.gif

(thius JUST using the HDD swap method, and the font exploit .)

as for why we all use raincoat, this is because on winbond chips (i think its just them)
evox can not flash them because evox can only do a block erease
but this chip can not be erased like this, only a chip erase ..
and this is were raincoat comes in smile.gif
this can do a chip erase.. thus the ONLY choice
well from what i know ... but PLEASE correct me if im wrong smile.gif

if u need any help with this PM me as i dont float down to this section much

Mick ...

note, only top points soldered (Mobo was never taken out)

just tsopped 2 xboxes with the Evox M7 bios, xboxes are dated 2003-07-24 and 2003-07-29, both had the focus chip, but one had a WINBOND and the other an ST chip...
soldered 2 points ontop, didnt care for the one under because I can always flash it again using raincoat 0.501... =)

I used the conf someone posted a few posts up, worked just fine...

I have a 1.5, all I can say is I've used a conductive pen to do this on a few other older xbox's, this one I just got wont flash at all, I must have connected the two points like 5 times now, even done the bottom to see if that helps...nothing

I know my work is clean, dont have a tester though...

Erasing..
Trying To Erase Whole Chip
ERASE ERROR AT +0x0...read 0x09
Done
error: Erase Failed for block at +0x0 reads as 0x09
Could Your chip be write protected?
completed

every time....

any suggestions?

I have a V1.3 Hynix HY29F002 **

Used only top 2 sets of points.  (soldered.. D:  slaps myself for just not waiting till that morning when acme was open to just grab a trace pen!).

007 evox flash

Flash =0xadb0,"Hynix - HY29F002",0x40000

EvoxM7  **256k

Works like a champ!

I only had one minor glich along the way.. I first looked at a diagram posted for 1.3 that only had the top R7D10 points in view and circled and another for the bottom.  At first i was like wtf??  went over my work, read a bit more and realized 2 "SETS" of points.. Doh!
Jumped those and all was well.

I have flashed a few 1.4's now using MechAssault/Evox method..  once again like its been stated before.. ONLY the top 2 points are needed..  The only 1.4/1.5 you cant use evox to flash is the winbond chip which requires raincoat.
