Tsop Flashing On v1.2-1.5
« Reply #60 on: September 06, 2003, 11:12:00 PM »

I just flashed a 1.3 today with the Hynix chip.  I only bridged the top two points.  Flash went fine with MA and evox.  I did have to add the line

Flash = 0xadb0,"Hynix - HY29F002",0x40000

in evox.ini to get it to flash.

scored me a Samsung too, but all I did was solder the two topside points, and updated my evox.ini with

Flash = 0x20b0,"ST - 29F002",0x40000

at first it said flash unwriteable, then I knew that I had to update the *.ini

so whats the bottom point all about? I checked it with a meter and it seems to be the same as one of the top points..

I've flashed two v1.3 boxes:

One with Winbond and one with Hynix. I connected only the top points (using conductive ink), and flashed using raincoat.

I have a V1.3 TSOP: Hynix HY29F002TTH-90

I seen someone have a Hynix HY29F002TT-90 is it the same ?
If so what is the evntry in the evox.ini is it Flash = 0xadb0,"Hynix - HY29F002",0x40000 ?

I haven't seen any other entries posted.

Is it safe to assume there is no raincoat exploit for Mechassult like there is for 007?

Or even an app that I can select from evox (edit the ini) and use that to flash?

Update, I have one of the winbond chips without having a 007 original.  So I simply copied the raincoat section of the 007 hack to the Mechassult hack and ran raincoat to flash my tsop (needs a full chip erase).  works great!!!

as said previously... raincoat/linux rules!!!!!

HELP!!!

/EDIT #2
OK it's official, I am an idiot.  Yes 0x09, 0x00 indicates bad solder, as already discussed.  There are TWO solder points on the top (the last one I did only had 1).  Do both of them and it works.  (duh!)

Thanks!  :/
