I agree that videogames in general are WAY overpriced. But, I disagree with that method of pricing them...after all, movie makers who spend $50 million on the production of a movie still only charge $6 at the box office and $20 for the dvd as a movie that onnly cost $3 million to produce.
I think a lower "price of admission" should be applied to videogames. They are just TOO DAMN HIGH right now. $49.99?? Sure they used to be $69.99 and $79.99 (N64), but $49.99 is still too much.
All of the major videogame companies need to come together and decide on a price to sell videogames at for consoles. I believe $29.99 would be great for brand new games and $14.99 for "best seller" games. That's reasonable, and will sell a LOT more games than they are now.
Think about it, MS, Sony, & Nintendo...If you lower the price, MORE people will buy the games, ultimately letting you gain a larger $PROFIT$.
They're taking steps in the right direction by lowering the "standard" price from $59.99 to $49.99, but it needs to go down $20 more.
By the way, if you want to make a small testament to not paying high prices for games, check this site out...
